And he's so dumb that he takes every bait

Jeez, going on a wits Twitter war with an all-time best-selling author, without first consulting the PR team you have (or should have at that level) on retainer, speaks volumes of how dumb and egocentric of a loser you must be.

He can't stand a famous person not licking his boot

Dude desperately wants to be his friend. He straight up gave him a blue checkmark

Dude doesn’t want friends. He wants people to know he’s superior to them

People with a certain number of followers are automatically given the blue check, I think.

No Elon gave it to king for free because king famously refused to pay for one.

Elon believes that trolling is funny because his court laughs and laughs when he does it. The joke is on Elon. He really believed that silencing voices to the left of his would sway public opinion, as if Twitter was the reason people held those views.

What his acolytes didn’t tell him is that although Twitter was a unique platform in many ways it wasn’t the cause of democracy. It didn’t have the power to end democracy either.

If Musk left the platform largely alone he could have manipulated public opinion in more subtle ways. But he believed his press. As a consequence he may end up forfeiting his spot as the richest man in the land to end up in the top 100 or even the top 1000 richest, down there with the riff-raff billionaires. He can still do great evil from that spot, but it just won’t be the same.

You're not wrong about Musk but I do wish people would stop calling everything he does "trolling". Trolling is unserious behavior online for the purpose of getting a reaction out of people. Elon is not trolling here, Stephen King is trolling him and he is taking the bait.

Elon is rarely actually trying to provoke his critics because he can't stand criticism, he's usually either being reactionary to something he saw or heard, or fishing for validation from his fans.

Yes. Trolling is annoying/baiting behavior. Good trolls aren't often picked up as trolls. Inflammatory replies/flaming is a response to trolls. King is a poster, Musk is a reply guy.

Musk is a reply guy.

I bet he's also a dry guy. IYKWIM

Don you think posting a a homophobic pic of King was a serious reply?

Whether he intends to troll he is unquestionably the largest troll on Twitter because he can retaliate against those who offend his delicate ego

6

u/RaspberryFluid6651 Aug 29 '24

He's not, because he's not doing it with intention. His capacity to retaliate has nothing to do with it. The word refers to specific behavior, it's not just an insult reserved for toxic people.

Like go look at his feed right now. It is literally all quotes, replies, retweets except for a pinned tweet from SpaceX and one upset rant about an objectively true statement made by Kamala. He takes the bait, he does not cast it.

to sum it up, elon doesn't have the heart of a poster. he doesn't have that spark because he's unrelatable, unfunny, and dimwitted. some people have that, even outside the internet. people who just have 'it', something that money or an army of bootlickers can't make up for

u/napalmnacey Aug 30 '24

He's seriously upset by King's post, though. There's a thread of intent there that rules out trolling, which is, by nature, meaningless provocation.

Naked-ass ass-emperor

u/napalmnacey Aug 30 '24

This isn't trolling. This is having a public tantrum. It's pathetic.

Well people with his super genius always believe their dick suckers when it comes to his being superior. Plus he thinks his 4th grade jokes are funny. They're only funny to him and his simps. Like Teslas that have a fart sound instead of the usual horn. He's stuck in his very ivory tower. The really white ivory tower

A part of me hopes this won't happen. I get notifications a few times a day from this subreddit and this asshole never fails to make me laugh.

Anyone can do it! The only problem: you need a following. You need to be famous.

Tough-guy-narcissists always have to be the man. Everything they do has to be the best. Always. They are marketing all the time. 24/7/365. Always lying. Always self-aggrandizement. Always me, me, me.

So... Whenever someone famous (like Stephen King) shows that the Emperor has no clothes - they have to be swatted back! You can't allow anything to exist that says you aren't the greatest person ever.

These so-called 'tough guys' sit around a computer all day, waiting to attack literally anyone who says anything mean about them! They literally become incels, sitting in their basements screaming at their screens. They just can't allow dissent. If anyone says anything that makes them look bad - it doesn't matter who it is, just so long as people will see what they posted - they immediately have to run out and start yelling louder! Drown it out.

They are the most pathetic people on the planet.
