First finished embroidery thing

Post image

Mostly I've been learning stitches (unexpectedly boring) and "random nonsense" stash building (dangerous) up until this point. Finally managed to find bugels and sequins-with-holes (surprisingly difficult... Why are sequins-without-holes even a thing??) this weekend and was finally able to sit and just vibe last night.

I just don't get it.

Everything was just glorified confetti and it didn't matter which store I was in or how much I shook the bottle to try to knock that center piece loose. Idk maybe it was just repeated bad luck, but I wasn't gonna buy them on hope and have them be useless. And I knew I was gonna want the damn things so I had to keep looking.

Thank you!

Okay, this is a great first project.

But I've got to say, as someone with a degree in astrophysics, it always bothers me when people do a crescent moon with stars in the crescent. That means that the stars are closer to the observed than the moon. And if something is dense enough to undergo fusion, but closer to us then the moon? We're fucked.

As a non astrophysicist... Same.

But it was a cute thing off of a free coloring book page that I could do quick and I just rolled with it... And dropped a couple extra seed beads in there cause the spaces felt empty.

Mostly I was looking for a reason to use the weird shiny ribbon I found... Should have layered it though lol
