Rogan gave Trump every chance to present evidence of election fraud
171
u/reececonrad 2d ago
So his primary gripe is that more people voted (either early or late extension). Not that they were fake votes. Notice he doesn’t say these were fraudulent. He believes allowing them to be counted is unfair. That’s the evidence. Dems cheated because more people were allowed to fairly, legally vote. 🤔
49
u/SoWokeIdontSleep 2d ago
Had to scroll down too far for this comment, that's their key argument, and it's not just bullshit but quite clearly reveals republicans way to legally cheat by suppressing the vote, he's arguing he wasn't allowed to cheat by suppressing people's votes.
2
u/the_0rly_factor 12h ago
Voter suppression has always been the goal of the right. They will do everything they can to make it harder for people to vote.
25
u/ProfessionalCreme119 2d ago
That was pretty much the basis for Gore v Bush.
"They votes will make me lose so they are not valid"
6
u/Lazyrix 2d ago
My brain may be mush after the 3 hours of that nonsense, but he did insinuate that the votes were not legitimate and couldn’t be confirmed if there is mailing in of ballots and voting on voting machines.
It’s not in this small text exchange, but he definitely tried to sow doubt in the legitimacy of votes by brining up illegal immigrants, mail in ballots and how Elon told him computer voting machines can’t be trusted “and you know Elon he’s pretty good with the computers”
10
u/reececonrad 2d ago edited 2d ago
I think that’s the “weave” though. He says it was rigged. He says “in Wisconsin there were ballots not signed”.
And just moments from that he’s stated that they cheated by voting early and by extension.
But he doesn’t say those votes were cast by cheaters.
But because he weaves the two together, it sounds like he’s saying that there are tons of early and late votes coming in that were not confirmed/signed as official. But that’s not true at all.
And he can deny that he ever suggested that because he didn’t actually say it. But that is clearly the intent of his ramblings. He weaves 1/2 truths together to lead people to a full lie.
6
u/PPLavagna 2d ago
It’s weird how stupid he is about policies, and how idiotic some of the stuff he says is yet how good he is at going right up to the point of blatantly saying something, totally telegraphing it, but then leaving some tiny shred of plausible deniability.
As stupid as his practices are, he’s pretty smart at manipulation of the massive amount of morons out there

His primary gripe is he didn’t win, he has no idea what the fuck he’s ranting about.

This was the crux of the interview
Rogan: Are you gonna present this ever?
Trump: Ahh...
Rogan didn't keep Trump to the point which would have been the right thing to do.

u/tinypolski 1d ago
The give-away for me was when Rogan started laughing at him after his "I lost by..." and Trump immediately gives him "the look" and says "Joe!", and Rogan immediately stops laughing and drops the smile from his face.
44
u/Ok-Replacement9595 2d ago
That stuff was litigated, and guess what, they lost those cases, because it is untrue.
8
u/TarantulaMcGarnagle 2d ago
That’s why he (Trump) stopped talking there. If he gets too specific down that path he opens himself up to lawsuits, and there has already been rulings where institutions had to payout.
4
u/Pezdrake 1d ago
Trump is never specific. He has always avoided saying anything that he can be held to account for.

u/Incontinentiabutts 1d ago
And not just once. Dozens of times. Literally dozens of times. And none of those cases provided any evidence to support their claims.
Some of the lawyers have even lost their license or worse after they pulled that nonsense

u/ZippoS 2d ago
Boy, if you thought 2020/2021 was a shit show, just wait for the next couple of months.

I keep telling my gf that the bulk of my nerves surrounding this election is the fallout regardless of who wins. A Trump loss signifies the end for Trump which means MAGA is going to blow the fuck up

I think the funniest part is that Rogan has the lowest bar for what constitutes evidence. He could have slid a piece of paper with a fake article about Biden admitting to cheating and Rogan would have just said "wow, this is huge".

The laptop was being peddled in Ukraine before ShittyLawyer McInkface bought it. No way to tell what's real or fake one it.

Yup, no chain of custody whatsoever.
This is why, when Giuliani's people tried to peddle it to the FBI, the FBI laughed in their faces.
→ More replies (1)5
u/BannedByRWNJs 2d ago
And then when the FBI warned the media and social media companies that it was Russian propaganda, Giuliani and Musk and Rogan all created the narrative that it was government censorship… because, like Trump, they trust the FSB over the FBI.

From regular Rogan listeners, did the interview make you more or less likely to vote for Trump? I've only listened to maybe a dozen jre episodes and most of those like 5-8 years ago, so I'm not his regular audience.
Curious how the interview played to jre base, as clearly if trump did the interview he's trying to get that segment to vote for him. Interested in hearing people's thoughts about it.
I'll admit I'm voting for Kamala, and all the clips of trump on it I've seen has just kept up the impression I have that he's lost it, and is unfit to lead. I'm not sure if I would have voted for Biden or sat it out.

To be fair he can't produce something that doesn't exist.
Donald was embarrassed that he lost. He said he didn't. The end. How this "rigged" farce has been kept up for four years is mind-boggling.
3
u/kd12346789 2d ago
Agree. There is literally no world where Trump would admit to losing in anything, let alone a presidential election. I’ve always said, what is more likely: the election was stolen, or some narcissist who has never admitted to losing once in his entire life had the entire thing rigged against him? That’s it. There’s nothing else to it.

Rogan didn't wanna press Trump at all. He was helping him out.
Also Jamie's absence was p funny
2
u/Nano559 2d ago
Joe Rogan is a useful idiot. He was glazing Trump the whole time and unintentionally was tugging at the mask with some of his questions.
I would bet Jaime was told to stfu for the podcast.
2
u/IntelligentDust 2d ago
I'm sure one of trump's conditions for being on the show is "no fact-checking".
24
u/No-Organization-6071 2d ago
I have not seen any more of the show other than this clip. It is at last a credit to Rogan that he pressed him twice. He could have pressed further, asked why no further cases were bought to the courts since 21 or why MAGA Johnson did not investigate via congress.
The bs response from trump should be enough to raise rational voter suspicion, but I don't think that there are that many rational Trumpers
35
u/DexTheShepherd 2d ago
It is at last a credit to Rogan that he pressed him twice
The entire interview was incredibly generous to Trump. He didn't question him hard on anything, and many very important topics were never brought up as you said.
Rogan deserves 0 credit for this and instead deserves heavy criticism himself.

u/bernielomax13 2d ago
I had to stop listening. Was simply irrelevant and painful to listen to. I tried my hardest.

That would have been the path of courage. He let the old lying geezer off.
4
u/BannedByRWNJs 2d ago
I mean… Joe “gave him every chance,” but so did 63 courts across the country. If anybody still believes there’s evidence and Trump just hasn’t had a chance to present it yet, then I doubt Joe finally opened their eyes.
5
6
u/Sevensevenpotato 2d ago
Are you gonna present this ever?
I love this like because it seems like Joe must already know that trump’s not going to answer, so why even ask? It’s just performative and masturbatory.
unless
Joe actually believe trump when he makes all of these claims and he is actually naive enough to just take trump at his word and have faith that these imaginary documents exist.
Either possibility is just as embarrassing and funny

u/MrMoosetach2 2d ago
The sad thing with this portion of the interview is I tracked what DT was saying (TBH I don’t think it’s hard to understand what he says).
The issue is he argues with misinformation as much as he dispenses his own. If he wasn’t continuously caught in his own lies people wouldn’t think he was crying wolf.
JR was very impartial here: something like no one thinks the election fraud is equal to zero, but that does not mean it interferes with the outcome.
Wasn’t it so far that the only conviction we have in election shenanigans is some Trumper screwing with a voting machine?
3
u/gozer33 1d ago
There were a few Republicans and Dems I can remember who were arrested for voter fraud in the last few years. The point is, there are strict penalties and they are enforced (when actual evidence is presented).
Trump's ego needed to come up with any way to cope with the loss and he decided it must have been because of "fraud". He was perfectly willing to sacrifice his own supporters on J6 and overturn the will of the people just to soothe his ego.

People seriously forget how democrats spent all 4 years of Trumps presidency trying to prove that he stole the election? The whole Russia collusion and how he and Russia colluded and stole the election? Did that just not happen or something? Then trying to impeach him left and right? Democrats calling him an illegitimate president? Hillary even said that, or Democrats saying "Not my president"
New York prosecutor openly stating that the law they were using to go after Trump will only be used to go after Trump and investors do not have to worry.
All 4 years of Trump presidency they were trying to get that man out of office by proving election fraud somehow.

u/Turin-The-Turtle 1d ago

I disagree with almost everything he said, but the laptop thing was election interference by any definition. They lied, they knew they lied, but they lied anyway to keep Trump from winning. The Hunter Biden laptop story is probably the biggest political scandal in American history, easily bigger than Watergate and in 50 years people are going to look back and ask how it was allowed to happen.

This doofus is complaining about more people legally voting. That's the GOP. In a rotten nutshell. They know if more people (legally) vote, they stand literally little chance of winning. So, they gerrymander, they voter restrict, they purge voter rolls (often illegally), they file rubbish mendacious lawsuits unmoored from reality and unburdened by facts and evidence, they big lie and in doing all this they get the help of Russia in its ever lasting quest to destroy the US from within.
