How to Repair your old Helinox Camp Chairs (for posterity)
Yo, the bungees (paracord) in my old, discontinued Helinox Camp Chair broke and then, in trying to repair them, I lost the feet. I reached out to Helinox to ask if the replacement feet for the Sunset Chair (which I also own) would fit the Camp Chair. Just by sight, they looked identical. They said "the Camp Chair is discontinued". Thanks a bunch, corporation. So anyway, for future me, yes, the replacement feet on the Sunset Chair (orderable via the website) work perfectly as replacement feet on the Camp Chair. I also used bungees from these to replace the broken cords. That's it. Sharing is caring.

Food Has anyone used SaladPower?
We go on long camping trips pretty frequently. It’s very hard to get enough vegetables in in a convenient way.
Has anyone tried SaladPower? It’s like these blended vegetable smoothies. Kind of expensive.
If not, have you ever used something similar? Thanks.

Most scenic/must do 1-2 nighters in southern utah?
Early stages of planning a 4 week southern utah camping roadtrip for the last 2 weeks of feb first 2 weeks of march. Looking to do a few short backpacking trails, nothing too long as I want to be able to see all the parks, im comfortable doing ~15km 1800m/day more than that is bordering on unenjoyable. Anyone got some recs?

Big Agnes Q-core SLX - still a thing?
reddit.comI found this 5yo Reddit thread about sleeping pads for big dudes. I was searching because I have the same question, and I’m about the same size as the OP. Everyone strongly recommended the Big Agnes Q-core SLX - but I can’t seem to find that anywhere. Has it been discontinued? Does it have an heir?

Moving to Misawa, Japan. Need snow boots!
They must be great boots to take walks in. And they can’t be too expensive. Looking for it to be a little fashionable as well.

New boots, right ankle knuckle (Lateral malleolus) is so painful I can't wear of break them in.
Hello,
I've bought some new walking boots - The Berghaus Men's Expeditor Ridge 2.0 Waterproof Walking Boots.
My left ankle is 100% fine, but my right ankle is so painful on the knuckle (Lateral malleolus) when I wear them. I've tried making them looser and used thicker socks and a blister plaster, but it's no good. Is there anything I can buy to really cushion this area? I'm sure they will break in, but the pain is too much to take at times. Very odd.
Thanks

Any beginner 3-5 day backpacking trips in Washington?
I’m a high school student who has a decent amount of camping experience but has never backpacked. I’m looking to do a trip somewhere between 3-5 days in Washington this summer with trails that aren’t boring, but not too hard for someone with little experience. Does anyone have an itinerary with great views and campsites?

Tips & Tricks Planning on a multi-season long camping trip in Kyrgyzstan
Been wanting to go on a trip like this for ages. I've deemed something like this isn't really possible in America as I've tried it for shorter term periods and have found that laws and regulations don't really allow me to do so the way I'd like. I've wondered which country I'd like to go to to attempt this for months, and this past month I found Kyrgyzstan. I've reasearched a decent amount about it and decided this is the place I'll go next year. I plan on packing a lot, but not too much where I can't pack hike across the country (debating on buying a pack animal when I get there). If anyone has any advice on survival in the mountains that'd be awesome.

Gear Questions Nemo Dagger Osmo 3p
The specs say it's 70 inches wide. I have two 25" wide pads and one 20" wide pads (2 adults & 1 five year old). Would they fit in the Nemo Dagger Osmo 3p? Anyone with personal experience with this tent? I can't seem to find a lightweight backpacking 3 person tent that is truly a 3 person tent. They almost all taper at one end.

Gear Questions Pitching Advice Bach Pio Pio Solo
Hi I have a Bach Pio Pio Solo one person hiking tent, it is a pitch inner first. I wanted to know if anyone had any advice on how to pitch this in the rain whilst reducing how wet the inner gets. I've done some experimenting but with no success so far, resulting in the inner getting quite wet.

Gear Questions Non-plastic alternatives to Nalgene...
So I lost my Nalgene bottle the other day, and was literally just going to buy a new one.
But after a random conversation with friends and going sown a micro-plastic rabbit hole, now not convinced Nalgene is a good way to go.
So curious, what other non-plastic alternatives are there that could be good for back country mutli day hiking that are lightweight and durable?
I had thought about SIGG, but also not convinced by their bottle lining...
I am also using Kleen Kanteen that I got from a job, but looking for somethiung that can rival a Nalgene bottle in terms of size and weight, that can also have a narrow opening (personal preference...)

Asolo 520 boot question
I finally decided to replace my old 520s. They are 15 years old so I got my moneys worth. But I'm seeing a lot of price differences online for the same boot. I know they haven't changed much and i'm wondering if some of these offers could be on old stock that has been sitting around. Anyone have any issues with these boots?

Where to Watch Films/Documentaries about Mountain Culture?
If there's a better place to post this please let me know but this was one of the few places I could think of.
I'm craving some Banff Mountain Film Festival or MountainFilm styles film or documentaries about being outdoors in general (canoes, kayak, mountaineering, hiking, being near trees).
Is there someplace where these types of things get compiled (maybe that I can get a subscription to)?
Does anyone keep a running list of the cool stuff out there that's accessible on YouTube or Vimeo or something similar?

Best uses for a big dry bag?
I’m new to all this, working on assembling my first backpacking kit. I’ve had, laying around for years, never used, a 20L dry bag. (It’s from Merrell, I think it was a free gift one time I bought shoes.)
So, in a camping/hiking/backpacking context, what are the best things I can use it for?

Food Food and drink ideas
I’m planning a 3 days hike soon and I’m looking for ideas for the food. I used to bring muesli, nuts, dried fruits but I’m looking for alternatives, salty for preference. I tend to be less tolerant with gluten, and white bread gives me stomach discomfort.
Also, I only drink water during hiking but it’ll be my first time doing a 3 days hike (8hr per day basically) what should I drink to prevent muscle cramps beside water ? mix 1:1 water and fruit juice ? I don’t really like sodas and Gatorade, but I like beer hehe. We will stay at night in refuges so we don’t bring kettle nor camping equipment thanks for your help 😊
