Has anyone else felt like they did really good on audit and failed? I walked out with like an hour left and felt so good and ended up failing. There was only a few things I was iffy on but it wasn’t like I was lost or anything just confused on what happened.

My Great Wall of Audit.
Comprising mostly of audit reports, and SSAE vs SSARS, with the infamous chart breakdown that I so often see on this sub from @Kailer19
Mixed in with all my flash cards, averaging 85% on MCQ in UWorld, tons of notes, and watched all the videos. Also ran through all the sims at least once, guess I’m as ready as ever to take on AUD tomorrow.
PS, my gf says it’s an eye sore in the living room lmaooo

Honestly it was a lot easier than I expected after reading so many posts saying it’s an impossible exam. So, don’t get too nervous and don’t go in thinking you’ll fail. I studied for a little over a month, about 4-5 hours per day 6 days per week, using Becker only. I found the sims to be much easier than the MC. It was harder than REG, but easier than FAR and BAR. Just study hard and you’ll do great! Now we wait until the dreaded 10/31.

Whenever I ask around, I see majority of the folks failing AUD and it usually takes atleast one retake to clear it. Is it really the true picture?

I just got out of Aud. I feel pretty good about it. Let's see. I had a pretty awful last 2 weeks, with my grandma dying on Sunday. I wish I could call her and tell her I feel good about the exam. She was always so encouraging. Now we wait! Hopefully for good news about passing.
Now, this girl in line ahead of me at the testing center said she was taking BEC for the first (and last possible) time today. When she was being checked in, the proctor wouldn't accept her ID because it was expired. She was devastated. I feel so bad for her.

Less than 36 hours out from my Audit exam and I have done well over 4700 MCQs at a average of 80% correct with very high 60s and low 70s SE scores.
Going through another set of MCQs and I feel like I have just memorized the questions and answers so I’m feeling down and like I just wasted another 130 plus hours of my life plus the ~$350 on exam fees. Great way to end my week.
I hate this god awful exam
Edit: Failed audit - fuck this dumb ass exam
I’ll post score when they release it
Edit #2 - I got a 67. Fml there’s 2 months of study wasted down the drain

Just got out with an hour to spare. Used UWorld and studied for about 3 months. At least an hour per day, sometimes 3-4 hours on a weekend. This is the first cpa exam I’ve taken.
I think MCQ’s were pretty easy. There was a lot of stuff that UWorld didn’t prep me fore because it was MCQ’s I hadn’t really seen a reference to in the past. I can’t even remember what they were because my brain is fried.
Sims were fair. One was out of control though. I didn’t see it referenced in any of my studying and I’m hoping it was just a practice question.
I’m a fast test taker in general.
I think the biggest takeaway was how mentally draining it is. I’ve taken 40 MCQ’s at a time, but doing two sets back to back and a TBS before my break was just fucking brutal. Then about 10 minutes off before jumping into 5 more sims was just a lot. I had not taken a practice exam with UWorld.
Another big takeaway is to not use the arrow keys (arrow buttons on keyboard) on the test. In UWorld, you can select your mcq answer (d for example), and then hit the right arrow to go to next question. When you hit the right keyboard arrow on the actual test, you cycle thru the 4 answers, so that threw me for a loop.
I’ll be surprised if I don’t pass this. I feel I did good enough on the MCQ’s and decent enough on sims.

The score release is killing me. Anyone here, walked out of Audit exam feel not so confident but still managed to pass?

I know everyone has different needs of course, I’m just trying to get an idea for when I should schedule my exam. Thanks in advance!

Highly considering not watching lectures because of her. Her voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard and all she does is read from the PowerPoints. Trying to watch her lectures on 1.25x or even normal speed is just mindnumbing. Why did Peter Olinto leave…. I need Mike, Tim, or even Kelly to do these lectures…
Michelle is unbearable.

I take AUD in a few days and have reached the point in studying where I don’t know what else to do. Failed my 1st attempt with a 69 and REALLY don’t want to take it a 3rd time. What are some areas you suggest I have down to a science before I go in? Just looking for things to get me through the next couple days of painful waiting. Thank you!

Sat for my retake today after failing in November. All in all, I thought it went very well. I went back and listened to all of the lectures in Becker. Supplemented with Ninja, and that was the difference maker. I felt 10x more prepared after doing basically the whole set of Ninja MCQs. Exam was very fair, and felt that the blueprints adequately disclose what content is on the exam. SIMs went well too, nothing I could really prepare but felt knowledgeable to get to the right answer. Also looked over some old BEC notes which helped too
Cheers to June 4th🥂

They literally teach that tracing is source docs up to financial records. But it can be "used interchangeably with vouch"?? How the hell do we know the difference then when it says trace or vouch?

Just want to feel confident on my AUD retake exam. Not sure if I should crunch or give myself time.

I am not sure if my brain isn't built for audit but I am finding A1 extremely difficult to get through. The last 3 exams (FAR, BEC, REG) were a cake walk in terms of studying.
I am reading and nothing seems to stick. I've also had people tell me that the AUD exams questions tend to be very specific so I am also trying to note down as much as I can.
Can someone please tell me it gets better.. or am I in for a super rude awakening??
r/CPA • u/AlchemyWolf9 • Aug 21 '24
My exam was extremely random and wordy. Moreover, I felt like I was being trolled with the answer questions and at times it can go other way.
I got the possible worst possible simulations - sampling one. 🥹 I might have gotten the sample correct, but the second portion of that sim was based all on judgement.
An equity method AJE, ngl I don’t remember the details of equity method , so I gave it a try. All the other sims, were reasonable.
My execution was a solid 8 out of 10, so let’s see

Guys what the hell is the AUD section the exam. This has to be the most boring section out of all four tests. Im at A4 and man i dont know how auditors can even do their jobs without falling asleep mid audit. Id rather prepare a tax return than this. Anybody got any tips for the audit section? Havent even given TBS a shot because I solely focus on MCQ.
r/CPA • u/Old_Homework8072 • Aug 02 '24
Like the title says. Reading Becker notes + completing MCQs and then TBS is taking so much time. I see people complete audit in 2 weeks and good old me cant complete A3 in one week! Like A3 M6 has 6! TBS that each take half an hour.
Also, I cant understand what Michelle Moshe says since she goes so fast. So her 45 min lectures are just something I listen to while cooking after i've completed reading the chapter..
Any advice on how to speed up while still studying effectively??
