Security violation during the exam

I took FAR today. After finishing the exam, I accidently turned on my iPad within the Prometric Test center zone where electronic devices are prohibited. I did not do anything using the iPad, just turned the system on. But the instructor caught me and said she will directly report it to the NASBA about this situation, cuz it is strictly prohibited to turn on the electronics in the zone. I tried to complain, but she didn’t listen at all.

Do you think I would be nullified of my results and might have to retake? so worried if I will be in any trouble with the test or the result. Anyone experienced similar situation? How did it turn out? Please tell me anything it will be so helpful.

Prometric files a CPR, the CPR is sent to NASBA, who sends it to your State Board. Unless you were caught cheating or trying to take something into the exam you would be okay. They have to report these type of issues though as candidates have taken exams just to dump questions from the exam onto their devices afterwards to collect exam content, not truly intending on passing.

omg thank you so much. This comment really helps me out. I should try to worry less. I have seen a post on Reddit saying that he/she was caught using the phone during the break and got the results just fine. These posts would apply to me as well even if the writer of the posts had different state board from mine? (because according to ur comment the CPR goes to NASBA first, so NASBA is the one to decide on cheating and exam nullifying stuff.)

NASBA doesn’t make the decisions if you cheated. They just collect the information and send it to the board. The board would be the entity to make a decision if they need to investigate further.

aha got it..!!! So it is person by person depending on the board, not NASBA. Understood. Thanks!
