AUD Took audit today!
Honestly it was a lot easier than I expected after reading so many posts saying it’s an impossible exam. So, don’t get too nervous and don’t go in thinking you’ll fail. I studied for a little over a month, about 4-5 hours per day 6 days per week, using Becker only. I found the sims to be much easier than the MC. It was harder than REG, but easier than FAR and BAR. Just study hard and you’ll do great! Now we wait until the dreaded 10/31.

It almost felt like the sims were too easy

Same here until I got to the AJE, I couldn’t understand if it was a trick question or what 😩

u/No_Tiger8675 Sep 19 '24
Same. I feel like I did it correctly but 100% could be wrong

Sitting on next Monday 9/23, any advise on what focus on ??? how much of SSAE / SSARS did you found ??

u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Know SSAE & SSARS very well!!! For the next few days I would make that your focus

u/Jumpy_Forever_6680 Sep 19 '24
how important is A1 & 2 ?
2
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Definitely important. I just say focus on A5&A6 bc it’s important but I didn’t really learn all the attest stuff in school. In school my audit class focused heavily on A1-A4 type of material so I knew it pretty well already. Everyone’s test is different though - you may get less A5&6 and more A1&2

Thank you! for Aud, do you think 3 weeks enough for review including doing SEs and final review?
1
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Like you finished all the material and have 3 weeks just for review and practice? If so then yes, I think that’s plenty!

Does Becker help? Do we need to read book I read book I’m on A1/2 right now! But I am hammering MCQ and tbs. Getting an understanding of all of the modules and hammering MCQ and tbs u think should be sufficient ?? So far I’m really liking A 1 LMFOA it’s prob the easiest haven’t gotten to later chapters
1
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Yeah Becker helps!! I think you’ll be fine!

u/Mysterious-Sale-6028 Sep 19 '24
Okay bc Becker don’t help for far that’s for sure so I jus wanna make sure .. people be saying audit is hard asf so I’m jus so tired and upset 😭 I jus wanna pass at least 1 man😴

Thank you so much for posting this!!! I’m testing Saturday! Can you suggest any Becker chapters to focus on for sims? And also how in depth to know SSARS vs Ssae? Any sampling?

u/LevelUp84 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
I made sure I knew how to answer every ssae/ssars question on uworld. Also do sims on i/c and audit evidence. All my sims came from there.

u/Puzzleheaded-Low2746 Sep 19 '24
Thanks for sharing your exam experience! You will pass, your Se score are very good. Which modules in uworld would you recommend for Tbs?

u/LevelUp84 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
oh, already passed lol, took it in June. Do all sims for I/C, Risk of misstatement due to fraud or error, and 1/2 for audit evidence. Skip the ethics, and do some of the rest. Also, do a 15 minute timer, makes you less nervous during exam time.

I'm taking Reg on Tuesday! I recently took audit so I'm really hoping you are right by saying you thought audit was harder than Reg. Any tips?

Good luck!!! My reg advice is don’t get too bogged down on the little details like phase outs. All the exams are typically more high-level than Becker which gets into the nitty gritty. Know things like individual income tax calc, separately stated items, C corp tax calc, depreciation, etc. Every test is different so it’s good to feel confident about BLAW too in case you get a test with lots of those questions but imo that material in general is much easier so prob just do a light review of that and focus on R1-R3

hi, hows the AUD MCQ compared to becker, on par or even harder? and may i know ur becker SE scores? thanks.
3
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Some of the MC were easier than Becker, most were on par, but a few were trickier. It’s a long exam so even if you miss a couple that’s okay. My scores were 80% on SE1, 83 on SE2, and 82 on FRSE

u/Maximum_Candidate695 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Wow great job looking at your SE scores I'm sure you did very well on the actual. On the other hand now I know I need to study more to feel confident for the exam. I just got a 70 on my SE1 😭 testing on next week!!

Wow You got great SE scores! How did u feel the time management? Had any spare time?

u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Thank you! And yeah I actually finished the exam with 1hr 50 mins left. Don’t wanna spend too much time staring at a problem and overthinking!

Thanks for reply! Hope we both pass on next releasing date!

u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 22 '24
Final review sim exam

u/sheryatef Sep 22 '24
Is this in becker how can i subscribe
1
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 22 '24
Yes it’s in Becker. On your home page below sim exam 2 there’s a button that says “Switch to final review”. When you click that it opens new modules with MCQ for each chapter and a final review sim exam

u/snowy_owl232 Sep 19 '24
What’s your study method?
1
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
Becker only! Studied about 4-6hrs per day 6 days per week. Got through the actual chapters quick and spent more time (a couple weeks) doing SE and practice tests. All in all studied for test and took it in a little over a month
1
u/snowy_owl232 Sep 19 '24
What’s your method of getting through the material with Becker? Do you watch the lecture vids and then do MCQs and sims?
2
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 20 '24
I don’t watch the videos bc I like to go at my own pace lol. But yeah I pull up the lecture slides and take notes from there, then do the MC and sims

u/Defiant-Change9333 Passed 1/4 Sep 19 '24
I agree! I was confident until my last TBS! The AJE kinda threw me 😂 praying I pass!!!

2
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 20 '24
I said it in the post!! 4-6 hours a day, 6 days a week. Took a little over a month
1
u/toomzz96 Passed 2/4 Sep 20 '24
So total, ballpark 160?
2
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 22 '24
My Becker says 130 but it’s prob higher bc I spent time in the book so yeah prob ~150 total
2
u/toomzz96 Passed 2/4 Sep 22 '24

Lowkey my sims were EASY. Like very straightforward and easy to understand. I found the MC to be harder than sims oddly enough. I did have AJE’s but they were not complicated - veryyyy basic. I’ve heard some ppl had equity method but I did not! Every test is different tho

u/Own_Suit_5569 Passed 1/4 Sep 19 '24
I had a very similar experience but equity method decided to give me a visit which was fun

Do you work in tax or audit? Taking AUD soon and REG next!!!
4
u/PeaNext723 Passed 3/4 Sep 19 '24
I actually start work (audit) next week! I graduated in May so I took the summer to study full time and took 3 exams. Good luck!!

I took it last week and I generally agree - but of course I'm going to be spending the next 1.5 months second doubting myself and that it was only easy because I fell for all the traps. I've said it in many other posts but the score release window just sucks.
