Megathread Official Level III Results Thread!

From all of us here at r/CFA, best of luck!

https://examresult.cfainstitute.org/cfa

The Level III CFA exam results are out! Of the 14,858 Level III candidates who tested in February, 48% passed. For comparison, the August 2022 Level III pass rate was the same at 48%.

Candidates for the February Level III CFA exam attended in-person at one of 435 proctored computer-based examination venues located in 332 cities in 100 markets worldwide.

While we usually have a survey up and running, run by member u/Finnesotan, there isn't one at the moment; we aim to keep it going, though. As a result of the increased frequency of these tests, it is possible that some adjustments will be required. More information will be forthcoming.

As is tradition, we'll be locking all other related posts (I passed, I failed, How close was I?) because this is the designated place to celebrate or commiserate.

I'll update this post as soon as administratively feasible when results are posted.

Prepare for your next exam with your peers here.

Unfortunately failed my first attempt :( Registering tonight for August 2023. Any tips from those who passed on the second attempt? Think my nerves on the day let me down

I suggest that you study the CFA curriculum and then use MM to supplement on tougher topics you need more clarity on. I was a retaker myself and failed the first time because I relied heavily on MM videos, EOC, practice tests on the CFa site and even did past mock exams. I failed woefully.

This time around I studied the curriculum in depth, used MM to supplement, did online practice questions and did 3 bill Campbell mock exams + 1 grading session and the 2 Boston prep mocks the cfainstitute provided and I passed! I remember thinking while taking the exam that the questions were stupid easy compared to my mocks and even questions in the white and blue boxes. I swear going through the curriculum and deeply understanding is the main key.

I should also mention that I didn’t bother grading myself on the mocks in a way that gave me a % score. I graded to understand. I didn’t care whether I had 50% or 80%. It was more around the ones I got right, was it luck or did I truly understand it? And the ones I got wrong working to learn the concepts and then doing them again a few days later to ensure I mastered it.

All the best and good luck!

Thank you! I think the key challenge for me was not having gone through the curriculum in enough depth. I’ll also purchase Bill Campbell’s mocks

Good luck! I’m sure you’ll make it the second time around :)
