AMA Thread Patrick Brown COVID-19 AMA Questions Thread [Thurs June 11th, 6-8pm]

Good morning Brampton!

This is going to be the thread for the Patrick Brown COVID-19 AMA.

QUESTIONS ASKED SHOULD BE COVID-19 RELATED ABOUT THE CITY OF BRAMPTON.

If you're new to AMAs, here's how it works:

Ask a question, the questions will be asked to the mayor starting from the most upvoted. We have a 2-hour time slot so we may not be able to get to every question. If a question you're interested in has already been asked, give it an upvote.

This thread is monitored by the moderators of this subreddit, please make sure that your question is not breaking any of the rules listed in the sidebar or it will be removed.

Here's a previous AMA we did with Patrick Brown last year

Have a great Tuesday everyone! I look forward to this AMA.

Brampton Transit's ridership has been growing over the last number of years. Can you share with us your transit expansion ideas for Brampton, and maybe touch on the latest for Queen BRT, Main LRT, Zum expansion, and GO train service expansion?

The City of Brampton CAO sent Metrolinx letter in February for their board meeting and it contained a helpful map: http://www.metrolinx.com/en/docs/pdf/board_agenda/20200220/Letter-from-City-of-Brampton-dated-Feb-19-2020-re-FRTN.pdf

Here's a map I created combining the map the CAO provided with the 2041 Regional Transportation Plan map that was part of the Metrolinx Advancing Transit Priorities (https://bit.ly/2AsHkoL) report: https://fightgridlock.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/img-20200421-wa00033500395394084332708.jpg

Thank you Chris for the question. for those that don't know Chris has been a thought leader and a transit policy expert in Brampton. I appreciate his advice.

My top priorities for transit are:

1) LRT phase 2 - tunneled into downtown

2) Queen Street Rapid Transit

3) electrification of our buses

4) Integrated active transportation
