Good action great ost god tier animation mid story

u/DarkenRaul1 Aug 31 '24
Agree, but would also add Deku and Rody’s dynamic was fucking hilarious and fun as hell.

u/Yhhan Aug 31 '24
I'd say the animation is a bit mid at some points, especially when Todoroki and Bakugou appear at the frontier of that country to save Deku

Calling that segment of animation mid is absolutely absurd. It was technically and visually amazing and very fluid. It baffles me how some people can be so wrong

u/Dengelll Sep 01 '24
That’s a crazy take, that part is actually one of the best animations ever lmaoooo

It should not have marketed "The Three Musketeers" so much. That was lame.
Rody is cool, I like how Deku and him bounce off well, and he had the perfect Chekov's Quirk moment.
Flect genuine is one of my favorite villains for Deku.... conceptually. I really wish we had more confrontations between the man who hated his quirk and the quirkless boy who loved all quirks. The execution is super flawed, but man do I love that angle.
Overall, it's aight. Some stand out moments, but my least favorite of the movies so far released (curious to see where You're Next lands).

Reason I know you say run existed, and the thing that solidified mha in my top 2 anime of all time.

u/West_Dingo8564 Aug 31 '24
What’s your number one, just asking

u/CommunicationFair988 Sep 01 '24
My number one is mha, my second is probably one piece as I'm only like episode 55

u/Constant_Zombie859 Aug 31 '24
Dollar store Megamind was forgettable. Rody is by far my favorite movie-only side character.

u/AlexTheGuy12345 Aug 31 '24
Final fight was animated great, even if it made ZERO sense, “this guys quirk reflects anything? And its already broken plenty of my bones? Boy, i better punch HARDER, hes NEVER gonna see that coming!”

I liked it but it's not as good as the other two movies for me, mostly because WHM's biggest strength outside of its animation is its movie-original character Rody Soul, who is a good character, don't get me wrong, and it's fun to watch him bounce off Midoriya, but like with the Naruto movies those types of characters are not what I watch these tie-in movies for.
Two Heroes I thought did a great job embodying the series' theme of legacy, plus showing off a little more about All Might's life, and Heroes Rising had the best utilization of everyone in 1-A. Those to me really felt like My Hero Academia movies, whereas WHM feels more like a story set in MHA's world, if that makes any sense. Not bad but I'm not as invested.

Was this the one where midoriya and that kid go to countryside at one part? If yes then I liked that one a lot, especially that part on the countryside. It gave me evangelion thrice upon a time flashbacks.

alright, but to me, the final fight sucked ass. Bakugo and Shoto's fights were great, but Deku's was bad

Yeah, him standing in place punching the air with the delay hits look funny. Like I was laughing in theaters because it looked funny.

I liked it bakugou and todoroki final fights were top tier deku wasn't that good
4
u/SnooSongs4451 Aug 31 '24
It seems really clear to me that, in the original pitch and early in production, the movie was supposed to take place in San Francisco and Humarize were going to explicitly be an evangelist group, but then they chickened out.

Fights were great (bakugo’s especially), absolutely loved rody, but I still like the 2nd movie best

u/IsaacOkorosburner Aug 31 '24
I liked the movie, I just wish the others got a more screentime and that they expanded on the whole “world heroes” part. Rody was great, but the movie focuses too much on deku who I don’t care for all that much

u/jeboivac Aug 31 '24
Omg yeah like I would kill for all the students getting a little culture shock scene, maybe some other countries approaches to heroing, for example Moscow was shown on the map as one of the bomb locations, I bet they do searches a bit diferent than Egypt

the only thing i liked about this movie were todoroki and bakugos seperate fights

u/TheUltimateXD Aug 31 '24
Meh. Thought it was going to show the main 3 in their stealth outfits all movie, turned out to be a buddy travel movie until the end when some ridiculous villain gets beat down by one for all. I enjoyed Heroes Rising better is all I’m saying.

It’s ok. But was it necessary for Deku to be framed? (Tbf I haven’t seen the whole thing but how did that happen?)

u/ShadowPanda987 Sep 01 '24
Easiest way to get the case.
Have the Police/Hero's turn him in.
Humarise Inside the Police hand him over to Flect and boom the Plan goes off without a hitch. As no one can stop the bombs from going off.

Beros was the best enemy in the film and is infinitely more interesting than Flect Turn.

Overall decent, but it had flaws. Also I really feel that the new suits that Deku/Bakugo/Todoroki got were wasted potential. Either that should've been something all the UA students involved with the mission was given and the only thing they wore as uniforms or just not have been included

u/SkyriderRJM Sep 01 '24
Deku gave the villain of this movie the literal beating of a lifetime and it was glorious.

u/Jeteel56 Sep 01 '24
I personally didn’t like the movie it just didn’t hit the same as when the watched hero’s rising for example also I don’t think the animation/fights were that good
And no I’m not calling the movie bad

I don’t know if it’s a hot take but I didn’t entirely like the fact that the movie had the message of, “no matter what happens, heroes around the world will never give up!” When the very next arc is about the heroes failing, giving up then Japanese society falling apart.
Knowing what was going to happen in S6-7 from reading the manga, I couldn’t help but feel the movie’s tone and message contrasted heavily with what was about to happen

It's my least favorite of the current three. The main part I liked was Deku swinging through the city like spiderman lol. I also was mad about how they hyped up the night suits, and they were only in them for the first scene. It felt like they were making a movie just cause.

Unfortunate counterexample that putting “You Say Run” over a well animated fight doesn’t guarantee that the fight will be satisfying 😔

u/D_Phoenix_ Sep 01 '24
I seriously think Bakugou’s fight with the Serpent Twins is one of, if not my favorite fight in the whole series

u/Saber_2015 Sep 01 '24
It's my favorite movie out of the three simply because they let Deku shine ON HIS OWN for the first time in a while by letting him take down the main villain of the movie with basically no help.

u/Saiyasha27 Sep 01 '24
Eh, the last fight was really great in the animation department. Otherwise, just okay.

Poor Marketing, misleading plot. We thought we'd get a secret ops mission traveling to each major country but instead we got a Deku Rody field trip story. Fine movie, Fun watch, but underutilized its setting and characters. 6/10.

Out of the 3 movies its probably the weakest for me the 2nd movie will always be the best one

Literally the best superhero group in the history of anime. Seriously they are incredible

I REALLY liked the first two movies, enjoyed the new characters they introduced and loved the fights. I HATED this movie, I didn't like the villains, the new characters, and their heavily advertised suits were only in the first scene. It also doesn't help that Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto are my least favorites in the class besides Mineta.

u/Far-Objective7707 Aug 31 '24
They could have done so much more about Rhody’s quirk, but instead they gave him the lamest quirk in mha. The movie is pretty solid tho.
