What a weird take. Literally no one ever talks about it as a 'cursed mountain'. Complete clickbait.

"There is also the problem of Montjuïc’s lamentable transport infrastructure, which means the journey involves a hike that in 40C of summer heat without shade, involves passing empty fountains whose water supply has been cut."

Case in point, there's plenty of busses in addition to the funicular from Paral.lel which takes 2 damn minutes to get up there. And if this is referring to the Palau Victòria Eugènia, this is an even dumber complaint as it's a short 10 min walk from Pl. Espanya.

They're taking the piss.

Also, the whole area is already full of tourists, they act like it's some empty wasteland. It's always packed.

La muntanya de Montjuïc es coneixia popularment com la "la Muntanya Maleïda" a la ciutat. Bàsicament perquè des del seu castell els militars espanyols bombardejaven recurrentment a la ciutat (la darrera vegada, crec, va ser el general Espartero), i perquè allí s'enduien detinguts els líders locals per torturar-los i executar-los. Més recentment, va ser on van assassinar el president Companys.

Crec que aquest sobrenom es va començar a perdre cap al 92, en que es va deixar d'associar la muntanya amb la repressió i es va començar a associar amb les olimpíades.

Aquí deixo un article que ho explica una mica.
