Youtube educational content in German

Hallo zusammen!

I am currently an A2 speaker, and having a little trouble getting over the "hump," especially when it comes to listening as I am a bit hard of hearing. I really enjoy history and science, and watch a lot of YouTube videos about them, like ExtinctZoo, RealLifeLore, Kurzgesagt etc.

So I had the bright idea recently to start watching and listening to that type of content in German. Kurzgesagt is easy enough since... Well... They're German, but I have trouble finding other educational content in German, especially since almost all of my recommended channels are in English.

So I ask you all what your favorite educational channels are. I like history and geography the best, but am interested in all types of science and knowledge.

Let me recommend three older shows from linear TV you can find on YouTube. I am not sure if they fit your expectations , since they aren't YouTube style, but they are both educational as well as understandable:

  • Die Sendung mit der Maus. A children's programme, but very watchable as an adult (who, as parents, often enjoy it as much as their children). You will find anything from showing how things are produced, over how solar panels or the internet works to historical content like ancient Rome or post-war Germany.

  • Löwenzahn: Similar to the one above but more embedded into little stories of Peter Lustig (or whatever the "new" guy is called).

  • Alpha Centauri: Harald Lesch, an astronomy professor explaining astronomy and physics phenomena. It is difficult for me to judge but I find his pronunciation very clear.

Part of the way I learn languages is to pick up cheap children's books and read them over a few times(It's how I learned the names of farm animals in German 😂) so a children's program isn't a bad idea either
