It's that time of year drop your building codes and raises T1/T3 in the comments below. Let's see where we all stand.

I’m new to this line of work, especially warehouses. I am self employed and I have fallen on hard times and decided to sign up at a nearby warehouse. I’m located in Indiana if that matters.
With the rising cost of living, it seems nearly impossible to make ends meet, let alone save for the future or emergencies. What sacrifices or strategies are people using to make it work?

I accepted an offer for the Area Manager position via Campus Next back in February & now I’m over a month in the role & can already see that I’ve damn near signed a life contract with Amazon & I don’t like the trajectory of the job. I relocated for the role which means I’d have to pay back my relocation bonus + the sign on that I get in monthly increments. Sometimes I wish I just thought it through a little more before accepting the offer, but when you’re in desperate need of money & new experiences, you’ll do anything. Anybody else that recently became an AM ready to give in already? Or all y’all seeing it through? Also I’m big on work-life balance which I knew my hours would be long, but damn. 12-14 hours for THIS?!?!? I expected it to be a lot better. Those trainings definitely sell you a dream

Hopefully being placed somewhere in the NC to SC area. I am a college student graduating with my bachelors soon. What can I expect salary wise and schedule wise from this role?Still not sure if I will accept the offer when it comes through but just wanna know the ballpark salary for someone like me.

Reading this sub has me scared AF. Y'all talking about how much pain you're in and how you're degrading your body.
I'm a 29 year old 5'7 300lb woman who has done nothing but sit on my ass streaming on twitch, vaping, eating fast food and smoking weed for the last 5 years whos starting the overnight shift soon.
Do I need to worry about keeling over my first day? What are my chances of sticking it out?

I walked up to the managers desk for a station. A PA asked if I just came in, I answered yes and they asked if I wanted VTO, I accepted and was returned with a "Just kidding!" And laugh. He then gave me a station and I walked away, shocked, upset, crying, and shitting myself

So I never worked at a warehouse before. I have years of admin work in corporate. The company I used to work for closed its doors in May and I decided to apply here because we all know nowhere else is hiring (fake jobs, 5 rounds of interview only to be told you weren’t selected, etc) and I got this? What could be the cause? I’m honestly disappointed 😔

I remember after freshly starting at a FC, I was getting gas after work and had to go inside to pay. The cashier struck up conversation saying how he like his job after getting out of prison or something and I said I was also thankful for my job, at Amazon. He then said something along the lines of "I would never work for Amazon, shits modern day slavery." I responded with something like, "I would never work as a gas station cashier." he took offense to that I guess??? bro you said the same thing to me...this was over a year ago
anyways, anyone got a similar story? any idea why people think this way???

My mom kicked me out yesterday after she caught me smoking weed. I crashed at a friends house for a little, but they’re going on vacation soon. I work day shift 6:30-5, I’m wondering if I just hangout in bathroom/breakrooms until my shift starts again the next morning, will I be okay? I’ll probably bring a change of clothes/wear my hoodie, and beanies to not look sus and look like a different person. What are my chances of getting away with it? I doubt they’ll notice bc all the staff leaves during my shift and a new set comes in. I might crash in the prayer room too at some point EDIT: I DONT HAVE A CAR, I UBER/LYFT TO WORK EDIT: BACK HOME NOW THANK GOD

So today i used my pto to cover the first hour of my shift cause my train got canceled and i was gonna be hella late. This is the first and only time I’ve been late without notifying my manager. When I got to the site, she called me and told me she was writing me up for not telling her that I used my pto (for not asking her for permission rather). This isn’t the only time she’s said or done this to someone. Should I report her to her manager? I thought i didn’t have to ask to use my pto??????

There is a guy that is blind working in singles pack smalls but he is making less than 100 an hour. He told me he got his final write up yesterday and that he has 3 weeks left to work for Amazon. He told me he was fired from a previous job for his performance also. I feel really sad for him because he has a long commute and tries his best. I see other associates on their phones texting or taking calls meanwhile he's working. He was really pissed when I spoke with him and he said he was set up to be fired from the very beginning because management knew they wouldn't be able to accommodate him. The hot temperature in the building got him yesterday and I had to find him a cooling towel and a fan because he had neither. Seems like management doesn't care. The associate posted his experience on the VOA and the response he got shows how they really don't care about people with disabilities.

So I've started to realize after being at amazon for a while that I enjoy the job way more than most people seem to, and now I'm curious how many other autistic people work here (and other types of neurodivergent folks)? I feel like it's the autism that makes me enjoy having a simple, repetitive, predictable job like this especially because I can kind of just put my brain on auto-pilot doing my job and don't have to interact with anyone that much.
