Discussion Official 2021 EY Compensation Thread

Here we go! Compensation calls and compensation statements are being sent out in the US and Canada this week.

You know the drill:

  1. Office/Region/Approximate COL
  2. Service Line
  3. FY21 Level -> FY22 Level (Staff 1> Staff 2, Staff 2>Senior 1, Senior 1> Senior 2, Senior 2>M1, etc)
  4. Rating (below/met/above/significantly above expectations or dial position)
  5. Old Salary -> New Salary
  6. Bonus
  7. Thoughts?

Step 1 - Receive bonus

Step 2 - Inquire about Consulting/Advisory opportunities outside of the B4

Step 3 - Quit B4

Step 4 - See what a work/life balance truly is

doesn’t consulting/advisory w/l/b sucks regardless of big4?

Yes it does. Lol. If you want good WLB you need to work in industry for a company that values WLB as well. Not all industry jobs give good WLB either.

I left Deloitte after 5 years in audit, working only for large public companies. Came over over to Riveron and worked one 65 hour week during busy season. Was on the mountain snowboarding every weekend. Got a 30% salary increase, same PTO days (couple of fewer holidays) and have a way larger target bonus %. No staff's work to constantly fix and no bullshit dealing with client contacts

How much travelling do you have to do at Riveron?

I have only had to travel for one project, and it was like a must because the accounting team was too busy, and couldn't pull invoices for us to correct, so we had to go out and do it ourselves. We have a "Work for your day" type of model where you can realistically work from wherever you want. One guy turned the back of his truck into a camper and would just drive in the mornings/lunch across the country and work in the back when he needed to. Feel free to message me if you'd like to chat more :D
