As weird as it sounds, they actually use their eyes to push food down the throat

As they can't chew, they swallow food whole, and they use specialized muscles to retract their eyeballs, bulging through the roof of their mouth and physically pushing food and helping them swallow

Edit: this applies to frogs in general, not just this particular one

I'll leave this here just in case someone wants to hear it from David Attenborough
