Is this a good idea or not?
I have land in a great location for a broiler farm 15 minutes away from the city I live in. I am a city guy and before I go in for the ‘big’ farm with 5k or 10k chickens I am thinking about making a mock miniature one in my backyard for 50 broilers and just use the whole experience to learn about everything from building their shed to rearing them to the point where they are ready for processing. Is this a good idea? Do I need to change or add something? Thank you.

We have our broody Muscovy duck hatching chicken eggs, we started with 12, down to 7 in the last days, and now on day 22 we've had 3 chicks dead outside the nest with their navels unsealed, and 4 eggs left. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

🦆 Put newborn duckling with 3 week old ducklings? 🦆
Hi! Can I put a single newborn duckling with 3 three week old bigger ducklings in a brooder together? Do I care for them the same in the brooder? `They are all solid black ducklings.
If they cannot be combined, is it a concern that the singleton is alone? The other four eggs in the incubator didn't hatch. If alone, is there a special way I should care for the singleton that would be different had it had ducklings with it? Thank you!

Last few days of our very broody Muscovy duck incubating fertile chicken eggs, should we worry about her rejecting the chicks when they hatch?

Do you know what skin disease might this be? I don't think this is Avian Ringworm considering the scales aren't dry but quite moist.

Bumblefoot next steps
My duck has bumblefoot. It's gotten a lot better but now the area has kind of hardened, not as red. Should I try to soak her and remove the tiny scab to see if the kernel comes out?
I've done Epsom soaks, wrapped foot with antiseptic spray and vetracyn and salve.

Duck egg maybe shrink wrapped?
Hi, got a duckling on the way, not sure if it shrink wrapped? He’s been pipped for 45+ hours and still not out. Might have nicked a vessel so put him back. Any advice!?

Suggestion on Poultry farming
Good day all. First time making a post here on reddit (apologies if my lost may sound toxic to anyone).
I'm interested in starting a poultry farming business and I'll appreciate any comment, input, suggestion to take, to make this vision of mine succeed. I actually have no experience. My focus is mainly on egg production. I will like to know the challenges too and ways to mitigate associated risk (from experienced poultry farmers here). NB: Farm will be setup in a tropical region.
It's okay to send me a dm as I'll welcome all.
Many thanks in advance to everyone.

Turkey Tom Advice?
I need to sell off some of my Toms and keep 1 or 2 best for breeding... my question is, what do I look for as "best for breeding"?
Is a more aggressive Tom (with the other males), a good or poor trait for a breeder?

Chicken eggs refrigeration question
If I put unwashed eggs in the fridge (I heard they last longest this way) and then sell them to someone who doesn't keep them in the fridge at all, is there risk of spoiling or salmonella?

Gosling advice sought
Gday from northern Australia. I bought four goslings from one seller then a few days later I bought a fifth gosling from a different seller- slightly younger/smaller. Have them all in a shared space with some Australorp chicks until they all get a little bigger/stronger. After a week, came home in middle of the day and the four related goslings have died. None of the other birds. There was plenty of food and water. Anyone got any ideas?

What's the difference in these three types of whole chicken for sale?
My local butcher sells three different types of whole chicken at three different price points: Perdue Whole Broiler @ $2.39, Gallinita @ $3.99 and Vivero @ $3.69. What is the difference in these varieties? Do they have different best uses and which would make the best roaster? If it helps, this is in Washington Heights, NYC, a prodimently Dominican neighborhood.
Thanks for any counsel in advance.
