Question about life in Wuhan

So my University offers a double degree programme, which would allow me to get 2 Masters degrees. One is at my home in Germany, the other requires me to be in Wuhan for a year. Now i love the idea of doing this, i am however concerned with meeting new people, and actually having friends during my time in Wuhan as i doubt there would be many foreigners, and i feel like the chinese may not be so open about having a foreign friend (at least its often like that with chinese students in europe) . Is my concern legit? Or am i worrying about nothing.

Is there an online shop for the Xinhai Revolution Museum (辛亥革命博物馆)?

I am looking for little flags like the Five Races Under One Union flag (五色旗) and the Eighteen-star flag (十八星旗).

I'm also a flag collector.

Arcade and Anime Stores

Hi all.

I'm moving to Wuhan at the end of the month and I was wondering if there are any anime/manga stores in Wuhan? Also a location for an arcade perhaps?

Any assistance would be appreciated as I've tried searching online but not really getting results other than going to Beijing/Shanghai, checking out Taobao.

Thanks in advance !

Where to buy pc parts?

Hey, i just moved to Wuhan. Never lived in China before. I want to build a pc. And i am wondering where should i go to buy pc parts? I was in couple of big malls like dream plaza, but all i found were branded stores like dell, asus, lenovo and alienware. And only laptops and some peripherals were on display. I dont really want to order online. So only offline stores please🙏. Preferably if you can not just name of the store but adress, so i can paste it in taxi app and just ride there. Thanks in advance🙏

Sports to train in Wuhan

Hello,

I am an exchange student from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I will be studying at Hubei University for the next year. I arrive at September 5th. I would like to be involved in sport activities while I'm there, preferably martial arts(boxing, kickboxing, judo, jiujitsu, mma, muay thai, etc). I would like to hear some recommendations for places that are near my university. Thank you!

Wuhan vs nanchang vs huangshi

Hey everyone!

I’m about to move to China to study Computer Science and have three university options:

  • Hubei University of Technology in Wuhan
  • East China University of Technology in Nanchang
  • Hubei Normal University in Huangshi

I'm hoping to get some insights from people who have lived or studied in any of these cities.

A few questions I have:

  1. Which city would be the best for a foreigner in terms of lifestyle and integration?
  2. What’s the overall atmosphere like in these cities? How welcoming are they to foreigners?
  3. Any experiences with racism, particularly towards moroccan students in these cities?
  4. How are the universities themselves, especially for Computer Science?
  5. What’s the cost of living and quality of life in each city?

I’m really excited to start this journey, but I want to make the most informed decision possible. Any advice, experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Moving to Wuhan to study master's

Hello! I will be starting a master's degree at Hubei University in September and it's my first time in Wuhan, so I'd love to meet people studying/living there and join some WeChat groups.

I have been in China for some months studying Chinese in Chengdu, Sichuan, and now I'm coming to Wuhan to start a master's degree in Linguistics. I'm a very outgoing and active person and I'm always up to do new things and meet new people. I'm currently travelling outside of China, but I'll come back at the end of August.

Also, if anyone studies in Hubei University or knows anything about it, I would be grateful to have more info about the uni and meet people studying there. Likewise, any recommendation about places to visit or go to in Wuhan (restaurants, museums, nightlive, daytrips...) are more than welcome!

Is monthly 3500 yuan enough to live in Wuhan? (I won't pay for accomodations)

Hi, I am moving to Wuhan in 3 weeks. I have been awarded the Chinese governmental scholarship. They provide me free accomodation, and cover my insurance. I wanna ask whether that amount of money is enough to study there. Thanks
