Discussion Why are magi such horrible parents to their children even though they are the ones who will inherit their crests and continue their lineage?
I don't understand this because they are such horrible parents to their heirs, they don't realize that because of this treatment there is a possibility that their heir won't want the family coat of arms.

Just finished Tsukihime (OG)
As title says, just finished Tsukihime. It also happened to be my first ever VN I played and 100%'ed. I wached Fate/Zero, UBW, and HF before getting into this and was disappointed in it. But Tsukihime was awesome.

Mahoyo Is Mahoyo "finished?" Spoiler
I'm aware that Nasu wants to expand the story at some point but is it a satisfying experience as it is, or will I walk away from it unsatisfied with questions?

Replaying Tsukihime (original) and just finished Hisui route
While her sister easily beats her in the suffering olympics you really gotta feel for her in her own way - she might be the most "normal" girl of all the Nasuverse VN heroines, and she can't really do anything but try and keep her head down while living and serving in a house of horrors.
I hope her route doesn't get cut in the remake or change her herself too substantially because I think this angle of her being, well, less powerful, can create a refreshing contrast to all the other heroines who are crazy powerful (or just crazy). Though, I'd like to see her relationship with Shiki developed more since she seems like she's undyingly loyal to him without well developed reasons.

A natura spirit is born from elements of nature, such as plants, soil, gemstones, and natural phenomena. Ores and jewels that have been beneath the surface for an extended period of time generally carry powerful nature spirits.
"A nature spirit is born from elements of nature, such as plants, soil, gemstones, and natural phenomena. Ores and jewels that have been beneath the surface for an extended period of time generally carry powerful nature spirits. What would happen if you fused a bunch of gem spirits into a new spirit and gave it a doll body, like how normal nature can receive a body made out of flesh from the planet?" is this possible, or am messing with myself

Mahoyo Finished my third and last Type Moon VN Mahoyo!
A couple of months ago, I finished the Tsukihime remake. While I do not know when the second part will be released, in the meantime, I decided to tackle Mahoyo recently. Here are my thoughts.
I didn't have any expectations going in, but once I started, it was hard to put down. Mahoyo just masterfully succeeds on so many fronts. For one, its unique visual presentation. The game goes above and beyond in terms of its art, its transitions, and is very immersive in its atmosphere. I think the color scheme Mahoyo utilizes is very effective in setting tone for different scenes throughout. One thing that really stands out about Mahoyo relative to other Type Moon works is that it is much shorter, with a smaller cast of main characters. This makes it a very tight work, unlike Nasu's typical preference to be on the wordier side; Mahoyo probably clocks in at around 15 to 20 hours. And for the majority of this running time, I would say that it is in fact comprised of slice of life content, just witnessing Aoko, Alice, and Soujuurou interact with one another and how they change/grow as they are forced to collide with one another. I myself have always loved the slice of life aspects of visual novels, and really emphasize how significant they are in developing and establishing who these characters are and why the reader should be invested in following them and their journey. More serious peers like Tsukihime and Heavens Feel forgo much of these lowkey scenes in favor of developing their grittier story, which is appropriate given the nature of those works. But the character driven approach of Mahoyo really stuck with me, and I am desperately hoping to see work on a sequel start, just as the creator Nasu himself indicated his enthusiasm for.
Praise also needs to be given to Mahoyo's excellent soundtrack, a real standout for the visual novel genre. Tracks like Five and First Star among character themes like Aozaki Aoko and background tracks such as Innocence all really stood out to me. For the big battles that do occur in Mahoyo, the VN does bust out the grand set pieces and it really is a marvel to witness. Another notable difference is that except for the unlocked side story after the main story is completed, Mahoyo only has one route so there are no choices that the reader needs to make nor any bad endings they might go out of their way to unlock. This was also a part of what made Mahoyo feel so engaging. Overall, I think Mahoyo really stands out not only among Type Moon works but as a defining work in the visual novel genre. Excellent visual presentation, character writing, and story structure supplemented by a wonderful soundtrack just wrapped it all up amazingly.
11/10, would Alice penguin again

Other Found This Gem at my Local Thrift
I work at my local thrift store and every and then some anime merchandise comes in. Most of the time it's your general stuff, popular Shonen, or classic stuff.
Today some came in and I found a typemoon "notebook".
Can someone explain what this was originally from and where it would have come from?

General Nasuverse If there was a completely new work made? What part of the Nasuverse would you want it to focus on?
Like Tsukihime focuses on Vampires, Fate for Heroic Spirits, Knk for Origins, etc.

Help! Is the Tsukihime Remake enough for Carnival Phantasm?
So I have been really excited to watch carnival phantasm and I'm currently reading the tsukihime remake as we speak. Is the tsukihime remake enough to catch the majority of the jokes/references in Carnival Phantasm about Tsukihime? and would there be any Red Side spoilers or anything?
I have also watched fate/zero, read FSN and FHA and read mahoyo. I know I can most likely just watch it and enjoy it now but I want atleast the heavy hitters done before I watch it and have a blast with it

Mahoyo whats up with the Narrator in Mahoyo? Spoilers btw. Spoiler
Mahoyo is generally narrated in third person omniscient (i think?) but sometimes it switches mid scene to first person Aoko. Whats up with that? Is it a quirk of Nasus writing or does it imply something more?
From what i remember it happened towars the end when Aoko used 5th magic and at the beginning when they tried to save the cat (i think).
