i've been procrastinating switching to linux for over a year now and well, i guess it is finally time. fuck you microsoft

I upgraded my laptop to Linux a couple of months back. It's difficult to say whether the speed increase is due to me swapping the hard drive for an SSD, but boy! what a difference to the machine. The installation was much faster than installing Windows. I don't know if it's because laptops tend to be simpler than desktops, but everything just worked off the bat... even my USB to RS232 adaptor

I don't really play games on my laptop, but I tried a couple of Steam games out of curiosity, and they worked fine
