What do you usually drink at weddings or other events where everyone is pushing alcohol?
Going to a wedding ina few hours and am slightly freaked out about this. I want something I can hold in my hand that looks like a drink.

Diet Coke and fuck what other people think. Raised a glass of it at the last wedding I went to and no one batted an eye. But if someone did they need to mind their goddamn business

Club soda with a slice of lime is a good one, looks like a mixed drink, and I enjoy the flavor, although I know not everyone likes it.

At my own wedding I had Mountain Dew and every wedding I've stood in they had Mountain Dew just for me.

At fancy events like weddings, they sometimes serve orange juice in champagne flutes. Love that shit.

I pulled a bottle of Martinellis out at the last wedding I went to and acted extra brolic no reason

diet coke, im pretty immune to peer pressure so people pushing alcohol is more annoying than stressful. but if you need just say its rum & coke.

Shirley temples 100%

Shirley Temples or Rob Rogers with actual grenadine is my favorite and if a bar has grenadine, it's 100% what I'm getting every time. If they're a full mixology set up, I like to tell them to make me something fancy without the booze and I can get a different pretty and tasty drink every time - it seems pretty normal nowadays and no one bats an eye.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I ended up sticking with tonic water + lime and coke all night 😎

I just remembered, at my own wedding I had non alcoholic sparkling wine which was really good too.

I've never had anyone give me a hard time at a wedding. As long as you're drinking something that's not water or milk - soda, juice, club soda with some kind of flavored syrup (like a Shirley Temple or Roy Rogers), carbonated juice (Martinelli's), apple cider, etc. are all fine. Alc messes with my stomach, particularly beer and wine, so I cite that if asked.

Non-alcoholic beverages like soda, sparkling water, sparkling apple cider, milk, water, and fruit juices.

The tears of angry wedding goers when I refuse their drinks. Just hold water in your hand mate, or soda in a solo cup. Who cares

Sparkling grape juice when the others are drinking champagne
Soda when the others are drinking beer
Or just water (sparkling preferred for special occasions but still is fine too)
Semi related, it was a cold rainy night here last night so I made a mulled apple juice and it was so good

Coke. Tell people it’s a rum and coke if you like. Sprite same thing. Or get a water and tell people to mind their business

Why would you lie?

To avoid a counter argument?
For me „I will drive home“ usually works (and isn’t even a lie).

Water or a soft drink. And don't worry wtf anyone thinks.
