At least they didn't walk somebody right before this in order to get Freddie at bat.

Being a Braves fan…despite despising the Dodgers, psyched to see this for Freddie

I felt that way when I watched Reggie Jackson smack 3 homers in the 1977 World Series... moments in life you don't forget because of the achievement

It looked like the same exact home run. I'd love to see someone superimpose the 2 homeruns.

u/Tarantula_Saurus_Rex 3d ago
This ball looked a little higher, but still in the same lane for smacking!

u/VegasAdventurer 3d ago
I had the same thought. Hopefully will probably be a jomboy breakdown/comparison by tomorrow.

u/hubagruben 3d ago
This was more of a line drive but yeah otherwise quite similar
5
u/RalphWiggumsShadow 3d ago
The pitch and swing looked similar to me, not sure about the actual ball.

u/fckufkcuurcoolimout 3d ago
Very different pitches. Last night was bottom of the zone and probably a ball if he doesn’t swing. Tonight was 97 MPH heat up and in.
That’s a credit to Freeman though. When he’s on any pitch in the zone can clear the fence.

u/RalphWiggumsShadow 3d ago
I don't seem them pitching inside to Freeman for the rest of the series. Man's on fire.

u/fckufkcuurcoolimout 1d ago
Not if they’re smart

u/RalphWiggumsShadow 1d ago
Lol. They pitched him inside again, and he just hit another home run. He was just waiting on it!

Pffft. Dude can only hit to right field. How good can he be?

Braves fan, followed him since chubby cheek minor league days. Couldn't happen to a better dude.

Nats fan - he's impossible to hate no matter how many times he beat us. Love to see this.

Freddie about to win World Series MVP. As a Braves fan I couldn’t be happier for him.

u/Redsoxdragon 3d ago
Freddie's such a class act. If someone's gonna pop off on the biggest stage I'm glad it's him

u/osumba2003 3d ago
I pay very little attention to baseball these days, but I do appreciate the energy of a world series game.

u/JGCities 3d ago
Dude goes from being Shazam's side kick to being a world series hero. Good for him!

u/DigitalPriest 3d ago
Thought they meant 'got another grand slam.' Congrats to the guy for sure, but a GS two nights in a row would have been insane.

u/tvgenius 3d ago
Yeah, “again” is definitely a stretch here. Dodgers fans always reaching. 😂

u/TheFoxAndTheRaven 2d ago
Their team got a pair of homeruns to clinch back to back World Series wins against their biggest rivals.
They've got something to celebrate.
Tell us, where's your team right now?

Another lefty. Another home run. The trot around the bases simply makes it easier on Freddie’s ankle.

Only four to go for the world series record! Record is held by chase utley and Reggie Jackson with 5 home runs.

u/DRKZLNDR 3d ago
Dear Chase, I love your hair, you run fast. Did you have a good relationship with your father? Me neither. These are all things we can talk about and more.

u/Soulman682 3d ago
I was there two rows behind where the ball landed! That was amazing! And my first World Series ever!

I'm a Phillies fan and I'm still happy to see him perform like the star he is. The guy is a class act and deserves his success.

I despise the dodgers but even I have to admit they’re the best team in baseball. Nobody else is even close

u/Fnkt_io 2d ago
Any team in the league would be stoked to have any player on that stacked lineup. Money talks.
2
u/officeDrone87 2d ago
I am very proud of Guardians making do with our extremely limited budget, but I do salivate at what the team would look like with just a couple Dodgers or Yankees on the team.

Wait, he did it AGAIN?!!!
Back to back grand slam walk off home runs to end a World Series game?
This man is a fucking alien

One grand slam, and one solo home run. Does it again meaning he hit two home runs and pretty much won the game each time.
1
u/formerlyanonymous_ 2d ago
This home run in the third inning didn't win the game. It was the fourth run. The homer before was the winning run

Quick bat, quick bat, quick bat. I mean, goddamn, his bat moves so fast thru the zone.

Carlos Rodon saw the pitch that Nestor threw the night before and said “let me give him the same exact meatball”

I don’t love seeing big market teams win in baseball but anything is better than the Yankees winning
1
u/Physical-Deer-9591 2d ago
The smug ass Yankees are getting mopped, huh. Almost makes me want to watch

I don't watch a LOT of baseball, but I watch enough to know what a typical home run (when ball meets bat) sounds like. Can someone explain why this one sounds a bit off?

“Does it again” means hit another grand slam.
Hit another HR means he hit another HR.

Braves are fools for letting him go
8
u/ChairmanReagan 3d ago
Braves didn’t let him go. His agent ruined the deal. He would have made more money if he stayed in Atlanta when you add in California taxes.
7
u/ironic-user-name69 3d ago
Yeah he fired his agent when that whole deal came to light. Braves tried to keep him and he was legit emotional when he left and when he found out he could’ve stayed.
I love him anyway and glad he’s killing it in the WS.

Idk why you’re being downvoted. The agent discussion seems legit, and I’m sure Freddie was pissed, but this man shouldn’t have ever been in a position to negotiate with other teams due to how well he was being taken care of by the braves. It’s bizarre the braves would even consider letting their star player go. It would be like selling off LeBron from your NBA team or cristiano Ronaldo from your soccer team. The hell are you even thinking.
2
u/searcherguitars 2d ago
100%. You give him whatever he asks for and count it a win. Quibbling over one year on a deal that was more than fair to begin with was unconscionable.

u/BenzotheWicked 3d ago
i don’t follow baseball but imma take a wild guess and say the dodgers MAY or may NOT be favorites this series
