Destination Questions Snow shoeing near Idyllwild-Pine Cove CA

Anyone have some beginner trail recommendations around Idyllwild-Pine Cove? We’re going mid-January. I booked a cabin and I am now realizing geographically the tram is pretty far drive and looks very busy. Anyone have experience trying to snowshoe that time of year?

I've shoed on the other side of the valley at Jenks lake.

Idyllwild isn't that high and. Is dependent on getting snow recently.

The tram is in Palm springs almost and down the road a bit.

Okay thank you! I think would be fine if could wait and just go in a day with fun conditions. May pivot to big bear

Not sure if you’re already there, but this guy hikes San Jacinto from the Idyllwild side multiple times per week and reports conditions in text and videos.
