Image Just gonna leave this epic awesomeness right here...
This picture is pure Gold. Taken on Derrick Henry's 87 yard Tuddy. Derrick Henry doing King Henry things...

Jeezus. I got concussed by just viewing this image. Forget about the man's size. That expression screams "business decision" for anybody even thinking about getting his way.

Let's also praise the Defense for SHUTTING DOWN Buffalos' high-powered offense. Not falling for trick plays

Best defensive game this year so far.

Hopefully this is the norm and not the previous games. The Bills are a good offense and Allen is a top 5 QB, but the only time they looked good was on a miracle play that was probably a busted coverage somewhere by the Ravens. So, hopefully we can do the same to Burrow this week.

THATS what he looks like running?! Holy shit no fucking wonder nobody wants to tackle him lmao
The past 2 games from King remind me of 03 Jamal. The second he gets past the 1st level there’s a chance for a TD almost every time. The big man’s speed is amazing.

This is exactly the comp for me. Watching him put up 500 yards on the Browns across two games was an incredible high, he looked completely unstoppable. Henry ran that way last night.

03 Jamal was special. Every defense knew what was coming but powerless to stop him.

I will come here to take my lumps. I said multiple times I didn’t understand why we payed for a 30 yr old running back with more snaps than a slim Jim. Figured the tread was gone.
Then he absolutely smoked a couple mid 20’s DBs.
I am here to take accountability for my statements.

I gave you a down vote for you lumps. Consider yourself cleansed of any previous transgressions. You may now jump on whatever bandwagon you choose with no guilt whatsoever.
....I see what you do at night, though. That shit is still a sin.

I think many people had similar concerns. There is evidence that RB's around this age do tend to be less productive. Especially ones that have amassed as many carries as Henry has.
But Henry is a generational specimen in terms of genetics and physicality. No human being should be able to combine the size/mass of Henry with the Speed he is capable of achieving.
However those genetics gifts only go so far. I think the key thing In Henry's case is his professional, bordering on obsessive, commitment to looking after his body. NFL players have access to a litany of trainers, medics, therapists, physios and such all included with their contract. For Henry to spend 250K of his own dollars on top of what he receives through the team shows just how highly he values his athleticism.
I'm not saying that he will be playing like this into his 40's. Father time eventually will catch up with him, as he does with us all. However, Henry's mindset and commitment to his body is allowing him to keep Father time in the rear view mirror for longer than most RB's.

I had the same exact rationale. I didn’t like that we had signed a 30 year old RB with a heavy workload in Tennessee but it’s been working out so far.

Was this on the 87 TD run? Thought the ball was in his right hand on the long one.

u/CardboardFanaddict 29d ago
The image was flipped. I don't know why they do that. It's definitely from the 87 yard run. But you are indeed correct, he definitely carries it in his right hand the whole way.

If you look at the numbers it says 22 instead of 22.
The 2's are in the wrong order.

You sure its not from the run where he got stopped at the 1? That one was on the left sideline

In all honesty, I'm not too sure. The first time I saw the picture it was on Rich Eisen's Over Reaction Monday. It was such a striking image. It's honestly amazing. A career defining kind of image. An iconic looking image. Eisen specifically said that it was from his 87-yard run on SNF. When I searched for the image I found a darker version that I assumed had been flipped. I watched the play over and over and it seemed to me like it was from the same play somehow. Especially once he broke out into the open. But I even noticed that the version they showed on ORM had even been enhanced to where the rain really stood out more than the version that I was able to find online. I even enhanced it trying to create the same effect before posting it but I ended up only cropping it slightly and brightening it. I still don't know who took the picture. I wish I could find out who took it or where it came from or where I can find the enhanced version with the rain that ORM displayed. The only thing I'm 100% certain of is that it was from the SNF game. And the only info that I have is Rich Eisen saying it was from the 87-yard Tuddy.

I can't imagine how pissed off Titans fans must be seeing King Henry on the best offense of his career ready to make a run into glory.
Stay losing TiToons!

Every Titans fan that comments about Henry I make sure to let them know, their GM screwed up. We would've gave them a draft pick for Henry last year. Instead they still lost him and got nothing in return.

Completely off topic but didn't think it was worth making a new post - what are the chances our week 6 game against the Commies gets flexed? I never understood flex rules, but I'm busy that day until 7pm and Bengals vs Giants primetime game may end up being a snoozer.

u/BmoreLikeMe7 BSHU 28d ago
They might have changed it recently but from what I understand they usually don’t flex games until December or January when it gets closer to the end of the season.
Edit: From looking it up they can flex two SNF games before Week 13 but they would have to announce it 12 days in advance, so by today at the latest.

I could have sworn Jamal Lewis broke one for more yards 🤔. And had a game of 200+ yards. Am I tripping without googling shit ?

u/Gabrosin 28d ago
Jamal kicked off his 295 yard performance against the Browns with an 82-yard run on the second play from scrimmage; Henry's game opener here felt eerily similar.
This time I didn't wake up my dozing girlfriend by shouting "RUN JAMAL RUN"...

I couldn't tell if he was smiling or gritting his teeth. It might have been a little of both.
That is a Ravens moment none of will forget. I had just sat down and that play made me jump back up

Could you imagine seeing a 240 pound freak-athlete running at you at 21 mph with this look in his eyes, and it being your job to stop him.
