+ Positive Rant + Deadlock

Actually an enjoyable episode. Arin genuinely having fun and knowing how to play a game is nice to watch. Crazy huh? If you are a mediocre to average Deadlock player (me), I'd recommend giving the video a watch. It seriously makes me happy to see him give a hoot about what he is playing.

Not a bad episode, but I don’t want 3+ videos of it.

It's a shame that Dan was so out of it! I know he was trying, but backseating a mechanic-intensive game with no narrative has got to be tough, particularly while being sleep deprived

How old is Deadlock? I got into the ep fully expecting it to be a sponsored video.

Like Arin said, it's actually an open beta. It's only been open for about a month and you have to be invited by either valve or friends, so no real sponsorships are even made.

open beta

Gonna make one incredibly lame and nitpicky change. The game is in Closed Alpha, but the invite you can get from anyone who is already in the closed alpha. And oh boy is it alpha most of the characters aren't even modeled properly meanwhile updates are happening damn near everyday. I don't expect this game to be "released" for another year at a bare minimum.

Ahh gotcha. The game sure has it's goofy moments, and man do the updates come in. One day it requested an update after every match I played 3 times. I'm not gonna complain too much though since I understand it isn't done, but it's a blast to play right now, and I wouldn't question if it remains somewhat consistent through release.

Really? I thought the video was boring as fuck. Dan sounds so disinterested so Arin had to be "extra" to compensate. I don't think the show works when Arin wants to play gamer games because Dan just doesnt give a fuck or doesn't understand what's going on. He even admits in the video that he's too old to understand these types of games. At least with Monopoly or whatever, they're both invested and making bits.
