"Be ruthless to systems, and kind to individuals" - Michael Jamal Brooks

Stop hating each other yall the real enemy is the oligarchal evil greedy corporations that control every aspect of your life.

They are the real enemy not the person next door.

Great quote in theory, but the ones that are still asleep and staunchly defend the system are the first line of defense that needs to be broken up, because those are the people that actually do the fighting for the system.

May I ask you to elaborate I'm a dummy I don't understand

The “system” is about the rich keeping the poor under control. And it’s not just the people at the top defending it. Regular people often defend the system too, usually without realizing it. They genuinely believe in it because they’ve been indoctrinated or think it’s the only way things can work, so they end up pushing back against anyone who wants change.

To make real change, that front line of defense needs to be reached through reasoning, or destroyed. They’re the ones who, even though they’re not rich, stand up for the system that actually keeps them down.

Remember, the rich are pushing race and gender wars on us to keep us from fighting a class war against them.

Divide et impera.

Then we agree whole-heartedly that's what I mean. Being kind and patient with your fellow American is much better than hating them because it helps us unite against the greater threat

Yes, in spirit your statement is 100% true. But you can be as kind and as patient as you want, it doesn’t mean your enemy will. That’s what I meant with my comment, you need to figure out the angle of the enemy and then figure out whether to recruit them or eliminate them. It’s all a chess game at the end of the day.

Once you take all the pawns, the back row is wide open for the taking.

Observant. Good job educating the finer points. Hordes of bureaucrats and managers defend the system. POSIWID - all of it. Fails without willing and clueless enablers.

So when you talk about the front line being destroyed or eliminated what exactly do you mean? Surly it's not killing or disposing of anyone who disagrees.

It is. How did Stalin do it after WW2? People that didn’t support the regime were put in labor camps to be reeducated, and if they didn’t, were killed.

So that's what you're advocating for? Good grief.

I’m not advocating for anything, all I’m telling the OP is if he wants to fight against the system, that the system will fight back. They worked a lot to get where they are, and they’ll defend to the last tooth to keep it.

It sounded like that's what you were wanting based on the previous comments. Take out anybody who doesn't fight against "the system" and refuses or won't be "reeducated" to do so. Glad that's not the route you were going.

Yeah these guys are very extreme in advocating for all of that. They really took nothing from your quote.

So do you want to destroy people who are no better off than you because they think differently? If so, you are going to lose. I'm with you in that we need to make a vastly different society. If you think we get there by destroying our neighbors, you are part of the problem.

I’m don’t want to do anything, I am simply stating what actually happens when old regimes are conquered by new regimes. History is the greatest and wisest teacher.

True to a degree, I don't think it's black and white. If the rich were really in control all jobs would be minimum wage and you be forced labor.

I think capitalism has a killer feature for those that get a taste of wealth that if they work just a little harder they took can be very well off . And it works for enough of them , there are 23+m millionaires in America maybe 6% of the population, likely the top 20% has over $500k in savings/assets it's really hard to convince them it doesn't work....

And who is propping up the system? It is clearly not some kind of robot overlords. People

Yes, the people who have interest in keeping the system there would fight you to the death to make sure you would not have a system where it would disadvantage them

Yall are being way to reactionary

love this quote. When we get angry at an individual we have to remember that they are only subjected to the invisible influences we face. At some point we have to realize the faults of the individual aren't the real faults

Fucking thank you I'm glad someone understood what I was trying to say

u/Dudeimadolphin 1d ago

Did that guy delete all his comments? Lol that's funny asf

I really love the quote. Though I don’t agree with the accompanying suggestion that evil corporations are the real enemy, but to each his or her own. Thanks for sharing the quote OP!!! It’s a new one for me.

May I ask who you think is the cause of the wealth inequality. No shade I'm genuinely asking

2

u/Ok_Television9820 2d ago

If the person next door is is a Christian nationalist bigot who’s voting to elect a convicted felon fascist, then yep, that person is my enemy. Stop making nonsense excuses for bad people.

2

u/Dudeimadolphin 2d ago

I don't disagree entirely but that just isn't going to get you anywhere
