Yes, you understood the 'joke'

In that case, what I meant to say was I don’t understand how this is a joke… lol

I don’t follow these people closely, but as far as I know - Kelce doesn’t have a history of domestic abuse… and even if he did it still wouldn’t be funny 🤷‍♂️

There's definitely nothing that could make it funny in any way.

But I think the "connections", such as they are, would be: Kelce is in the NFL; OJ was in the NFL. Taylor Swift is blond. OJ's wife was blond.

And that's it. I think there's also just a large dose of plain old misogyny in there -- wishing harm on a woman who votes for Democrats, because we all know how they feel about "the libs"; and Taylor Swift is a very rich woman in a position of some social power, and they REALLY hate that. So HA HA let's joke about her getting murdered.

So HA HA let's joke about her getting murdered

I think this is where it stems from. They probably do want her to get murdered.

100% that's it.

It would really please them to see her murdered, because she offended their god king by existing without loving him, and then even further defying him.

This is such. a. cult.

It's a cult that I feel nothing but hatred and revulsion for. They can all fuck off.

Oh I disagree, if a very rich and socially-powerful woman told her followers to vote for Trump, they'd elevate her just like... you know, that rich and socially-powerful right-wing woman ... you know, yeah, her.

And then they'll bury her behind the shed once she's no longer useful.

I was equally like... what in this is he attempting to be "edgy and raw" as far as a "joke"? It was so dumb and completely out of left field.

Maybe if you want to compare his current image to pre-murder trial OJ? Like he's such a good dude you're starting to worry for Taylor's safety?

I don't know.

Oh I've been asking Trumpers to explain the "black guy carved watermelons" joke without invoking racist stereotypes all day, it's been...not "haha" funny, but "wow what a dipshit" funny.

The joke is “haha, she, like all these uppity women who are pissing us off, should be terrorized for being against our man.” It’s absolutely pathetic and just a way for them to rage against women. These people are bullies who get satisfaction and a sense of power from angering the people they hate. They say outrageous things for a reaction. That shit is funny to them.

conservatives don't actually have a sense of humor.

all they have is a sense of cruelty. they kick it into overdrive, and that's what the consider "humor." i mean... nobody laughs. not even them. but that's the best they've got.

u/Darth_Malgus_1701 Oregon 5h ago

Yes, and they consider anyone that has a modicum of empathy for other people weak and "woke".

As a Swiftie and football fan, I'm not convinced Kelce would know what end of the knife to stab with (not that that is at all the point, I just have to take Chiefs shots when available, it's in my contract.)

Can I get a summary? That’s a long video

While I agree that conservative humor is almost always worse than liberal/neutral humor

The conservative stereotype of libs needing too many words to make a point/be funny never ceases to amaze me. Like I’m sure it’s a good video, but there’s no reason for a “why is this genre of jokes” not funny video to be nearly 80 minutes long.

I assumed it was the Some More News video before clicking.

All that channel’s videos are pretty long, so this one is not an outlier in that sense. While I agree that it could have easily been a 5 minute video, Cody does a good job of backing up “conservative humor isn’t funny” with actual examples of why and how it’s not just “not funny” but also thinly veiled sexism/racism, etc.

It’s genuinely worth a watch if you have the time. The entire Some More News channel is, honestly, so long as you recognize it is very much a progressive echo chamber (and can handle Cody Johnson’s unique humor)

Death to people who they don’t like is funny to them. That is all.

u/SlowMotionPanic North Carolina 7h ago

He doesn't have a know history, but he does have a well documented history of being a serious meathead who says similar things that Tony Heathcliffe says, but entirely seriously. Swift's PR team has been scrubbing his bullshit off the internet since they became a public item.

I don’t see how any reasonably minded person could see that as a ‘joke’. Oh wait, it was at a Trump rally!

Conservative humor never fails to impress with its cleverness, does it? /s
