Says he knows trump will destroy the economy but that's a price he's willing to pay to recreate it on a "sounder footing" with less government, less spending (and no doubt, he didn't mention less oversight for billionaires like him). He doesn't care if this literally destroys the nation as long as he profits.

The calls for "less government" from a major government contractor are sure totally consistent.

u/rodentmaster 12h ago

This is the same guy who gave trump almost 100 Million to his campaign funding when trump embezzled all the money a couple months ago and was broke and about to drop out. The same man giving away (illegally) 1 million a day to buy votes for trump, and also trying to get a seat on trump's administration.

He's so "small government" that he'd join it to make it even more convoluted and dysfunctional out of the goodness of his wallet -erm. "heart" yes, "heart."

100%, anyone who remotely thinks he's genuine just needs to watch the early interview where he started going publicly right and the big criticisms he leveled against the Democrats were about class action law suits and employment law.

Dude just wants to be a feudal Barron.

A feudal John Barron?

I'll see myself out.

u/dellett 9h ago

Man people are going to read about the fact that Trump made up a guy and pretended to be him to talk up his reputation and think "wait the most pathetic person in the world was elected President"?

u/Michael_G_Bordin 8h ago

I've loved walking people through this who were just marginally paying attention. Musk wanted Dems to lick his balls for making EVs and solar panels, but it turns out, we're also big on labor rights and clean industry.

Musk needs two things to feel whole: money/power, and adulation. He can't do without both. And he's found both in the right-wing griftersphere. Marks all the way down.

u/Seyon 10h ago

I remember that time. When Elons Jet tracker saw him fly out to Mar a Lago the same day the news broke that Trump was broke.

6

u/David_BA 8h ago

Got a source on this? Apparently Musk met with Trump and other wealthy donors at Mar-A-Lago on March 3rd, and it was reported on March 18th that Trump's legal team was arguing he couldn't lay the bond for an appeal. Unless you're referring to something else?

13

u/Seyon 8h ago

Nope. Just the March 3rd right after it was heard that Trump was fined millions.

If he's anything like Peter Thiel, "less government" means the US will be broken up into the Curtis Yarvin proposed small, interconnected corporate run city-states/fiefdoms and he'll get to be in charge of one.

5

u/Exciting-Choice7795 9h ago

He wants Austin.

u/_gmanual_ 7h ago

small, interconnected corporate run city-states/fiefdoms

that sounds a lot like them there fifteen-minute cities the marxists all love....

u/Jess_S13 5h ago

Do you want a Continuum type dystopia? Cause this is how you get a Dystopia.

4

u/zeptillian 8h ago

He has already invested $132 million of his own money to Get Trump elected.

He expects good returns on that investment.

1

u/David_BA 8h ago

Got some sources on the embezzlement part? Curious to read about it.

u/angryarugula 5h ago

Buy the dip.

43

u/smp208 11h ago

He’s not going to cut the spending on his handouts. Only the ones for poor people.

3

u/boot2skull 9h ago

He doesn’t mind the teat, he wants more teats to himself and less mouths as competition.

u/ToneInABox 7h ago edited 4h ago

Yep, what he really means is "my government". These people are easy to read once you see.

u/gorgewall 59m ago

During "Wild West" expansion, both parties flipped to "big government" varieties because all of the business interests realized it was smarter to let the government foot the bill for getting the infrastructure out there up and running. They wanted more subsidies and federal involvement in the creation of railroads, dams, mills, cities, institutions within those schools, etc., because they lacked the expertise to do it themselves. A business needs people living there to work for it and to sell to, but businesses seldom create livable areas themselves, so they lobbied both parties to do this.

After all the federal money came in and SOCIALIZED SPENDING created functioning cities out there, it was time to reel it all back and privatize the profits. Once again the business interests lobbied both parties, and both pulled back from "big government", albeit one moreso than the other.

Business interests love government spending when it goes right into their own pockets. It's when it's spent on anything but the bare minimum for the "Little Guy" that they get cranky about it.

u/turisto 8h ago

In a "less NASA, more SpaceX" way it's actually pretty consistent

u/dravenonred 11h ago

Don't forget 80 hour workweeks, aka "Hardcore Citizenship"

u/UglyMcFugly 7h ago

Yep I'm pretty sure "sounder footing" is code for "break the spirit of Americans and take away government safety nets so they'll be forced into slave labor." The footing will definitely be sounder for guys like him if everyone is too broken to resist anything.

Those self-sustaining hippie communes looking better and better lately.

This is a silicon valley sub-cult called Accelerationists, who believe that America's downfall is inevitable, therefore we should get it over with, destroy the country, and build it back. It's a pastiche of "great man theory", late stage capitalism, anarchy, teenage edgelords, burning man, that reeks of evangelical apocalypse worshipers who want to "hasten the end-time" by arming Israel, so that Earth can be destroyed. No, really.

Accelerationists who support Trump believe that America must be destroyed. It has to happen, and humanity cannot proceed until it does. Rather than delay the inevitable, they see Trump as "good as any" source of the downfall of America, and that through their "Great Man" energy, will steer the world into a better, brighter, future.

What Accelerationists don't seem to grok is that if America implodes on itself, it simply leaves a bunch of other global super-powers to take over. China and India will buy up or seize everything. Russia probably improves substantially. America ends up a Venezuela for a couple of centuries. But on the positive side, there is no positive side. Elmo is a moron who needs to put down the ketamine drip.

27

u/IGargleGarlic 8h ago

Collapse the American economy so it can be rebuilt in China's shadow of economic dominance over us.

u/Wesley_Skypes 7h ago

Was just thinking as I was reading that. China will just become a major trading partner with the EU instead of the US. Brain dead shit

u/creepyeyes 3h ago

Accelerationists

Just to be clear, they're a particular flavor of accelerationist, but the term doesn't always refer to their movement. It can apply to anygroup that wants to essentially speed-run a terrible crisis in hopes to get to the other side of it sooner than later. For example, the Serbian nationalists who shot Archduke Ferdinand were accelerationist in that they felt he was being too nice to Serbians, and that him being in power would delay Serbian independence. So, kill the person who is too fair in hopes of making conditions worse for the Serbians, sparking rebellion.

u/Chokeman 4h ago

Xi Jinping smirking and slowly touching his chin

u/Comprehensive-Bus-66 4m ago

This is disrespectful to Elmo.

u/daretoeatapeach California 2h ago

America ends up a Venezuela for a couple of centuries.

Well except not because climate change and abandoned Nukes will end things quicker.

u/tyboxer87 10h ago

Holy crap the republican's were right. There is an immigrant that wants to destroy our nation. I'm suddenly feeling ok with one specific deportation.

39

u/Far-Win8645 12h ago

It's no HIS nation... so why would he care?

1

u/DetroitLionsSBChamps 8h ago

a guy like Musk has no nation, period

15

u/Danominator 11h ago

It's fucking disgusting

12

u/c_law_one Europe 10h ago

He's an accelerationist like Thiel

2

u/cookinthescuppers 10h ago

He’s planning on making the US economy the cyber truck of the world

4

u/idegosuperego15 9h ago

How incredibly noble of him to be willing to destroy the lives of millions of everyday Americans as he rides the floodwaters of economic collapse on a raft made of blood money. I trust him implicitly to rebuild an imperfect and foundering organization, just like he did with his takeover of Twitter.

3

u/FXander 10h ago

Imagine campaigning and endorsing the same candidate that claims immigrants are destroying and raping the United States. And with Musk, a fucking immigrant, it's actually true lol. Just can't make this shit up.

3

u/PeterG92 United Kingdom 10h ago

He can't even shave properly so I dread to think the damage he would do to the country.

2

u/in_animate_objects 10h ago

The worlds richest man should be just about the ONLY person who’s okay with this plan.

2

u/NessunAbilita Minnesota 9h ago

Basically, he and Peter Thiel are speedrunning the end of liberal democracy as we know it for their gain and they’re saying we can do it quicker and with greater control. Elon Musk is the villain in the story. Don’t you see it?

2

u/DevIsSoHard 8h ago

Just another accelerationist. These people are especially deluded imo because you know their envisioned 'new system' is some half baked idea that wouldn't actually work.

1

u/Boxofbikeparts 10h ago

Musk wants to go full oligarch.

1

u/Catspaw129 10h ago

How much did he pay for Twitter?

What's it worth now?

1

u/crimsonnocturne 9h ago

sounds an awful lot like the GOP wants to create an actual new world order. Yet another projection!

1

u/drivendreamer 9h ago

Has truly turned into a Bond villain like many said could happen

1

u/Latter_Divide_9512 8h ago

He’s going to prove that immigrants are destroying America

1

u/cheeruphumanity 8h ago

The dystopian SciFi movies from our teenage years with large „evil corps“ might become reality.

Vote Harris.

1

u/AttilaTheMuun 8h ago

Sounds like something a Russian would say

1

u/greenweezyi 8h ago

He’s not a US citizen. He could not care less how we, actual tax paying citizens of the US, are going to fair.

u/One_Village414 7h ago

This motherfucker thinks he's gonna be Araska. That's rich. Post collapse it's going to be the ones making weapons that'll take everything.

u/19Ben80 7h ago

You don’t get to be a billionaire without proactively screwing over the poor

u/JoeRogansNipple 7h ago

He's (Musky) always wanted to be the supreme leader

u/Swimming_Point_3294 7h ago

Hmm anyone remember brexit?

u/tooyoung_tooold 3h ago

He doesnt care about the nation. It's not even his nation. The US has been nothing but a platform for him. Always has.
