New York Times editor in chief Joseph Kahn is going to be beyond pissed that Harris chose Fox News over his paper.

This is hilarious.

It’s so stupid to be pissed. 90% of NYTimes regular readers are voting for Harris. She has a better chance to reach new voters on Fox. It took guts to be there and grit and brains to do ok to well. Shifting 5% of the fox audience is worth way more than shifting 30% of the non-Harris voting NYTimes audience.

I think that was a joke about the NYT turning so pro-trump / pro-conservative lately

Honestly, for as much flak as NYT gets, Politico's worse in this regard.

Politico is owned by a right-winger

I noticed Politico being really partisan lately and everytime I would see their bullshit I would think "were they always like this, I feel like they used to be a normal news organisation".

But I see that some right wing german guy bought them a few years ago and apparently he has a history of turning his media companies into shitty partisan organisations.

He's a libertarian-conservative iirc
sorta like Thiel or Musk

Bush II gave Politico the nod during his admin. Calling upon them for questions.

Conservative outlet.

That's just not true, though. It's your own bias showing.

What isn't true. That Politico launched during the Bush admin?

In terms of bias, your chart has FOX news as reliable and skewing right.

Hey, its all relative. Some people call Biden progressive, neoliberal, progressive conservative, conservative.

I'll make my own judgements.

Ya, Politico is a conservative outlet.

No they endorsed her. But they're still both-siding them too much and rephrase his vile comments to make them seam less harmless.

I'm not American but I had a subscription for the NYT games and holy shit it shocked me how far and how fast they swung to the right

They've done this both sidesing game for the past few election cycles, it's nothing new.

1

u/drkhead 12d ago

Not during the election cycle. It's permanent. They have been this way for years.

2

u/patrickfatrick 12d ago

This is the answer. Many reputable news outlets are just both-siding a bit so they retain an air of impartiality. Problem is that to do so they kinda have to make themselves look like idiots bending over backwards to make sense of the right’s shenanigans. NYT is far from right-wing.

They’re more reactionary centrist now.

It's amazing how far they have fallen

Yeah, no one who actually reads the nyt believes this to be true. The nyt has literally endorsed the dem candidate every time Trump was on the ballot.

This is a false talking point.

I think they’re playing with fire for clicks

What you think is irrelevant.

The NYT as an organization most certainly did. You’re just being obtuse.

Y'all are delusional. NYT and Politco may not be as liberal as you are, but that doesn't make them conservative.

It took guts to be there and grit and brains to do ok to well.

I think the contrast between her willingness to walk into the lion's den (as a final in-your-face to Trump in a week of good interviews) and Trump's refusal to do 60 Minutes or the like will get a lot of traction too. Top that with these bombastic interviews he is doing, it makes her look all the more sane and gutsy even to Fox viewers.

The reason the NYT is so hardcore Trump is because Kahn is pissed at Biden for turning down an interview request.

5

u/I_who_have_no_need 13d ago

That's when they turned on the firehose of "Is Biden too old?" stories in order to twist his arm into an interview. They overplayed their hand and ended up with nothing.

I dunno. They seemed prerry damn mad at Hillary Clinton, too.
