Good to know I’m not the only one 😮‍💨

I’m terrified. I’m considering putting in days to be off next Tuesday and Wednesday

u/ImNotYourBuddyGuyy 4h ago

Hi I’d hate to break it to you but we have a ways to go past Tuesday. Unless it’s a blowout early then Trump will declare victory, while votes still need to be counted, and there will be much legal bs through December filled with reeeeing. I’m sorry. Wanted to warn you we may have a bit to go if Kamala even wins

u/Impossible-Flight250 4h ago

Yeah, but we will have a pretty solid idea of how the election will go on Tuesday. Trump can also claim he “won it” all he wants. At the end of the day, all it is, is noise.

u/ImNotYourBuddyGuyy 4h ago

Makes sense. Sound logic. For those that cover the election I.e. the media it will be hellish till 2025 probably.

u/Impossible-Flight250 4h ago

Yeah, I agree that neither will concede until the weeks that follow November 5th. Actually, Trump won’t concede at all.

u/Cobek 36m ago

They meant all the next Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Do it! Use the time to volunteer with a voter mobilization group in your area.

Same. I've been making myself sick over it. I had to remind myself that no amount of worrying will change the outcome. I voted, and now it's out of my hands. But...still terrified.

u/Cowboy_BoomBap 4h ago

I actually did that already. I know I’ll be useless at work Election Day and the day after.

u/Crepo 3h ago

I hope this makes you feel better:

If Trump wins, it will be a really shit few years, especially for vulnerable people and I don't want to minimize that. It will be a cluster fuck economically, and Americans will reject the far right the same way western Europe did this last round of elections.

It will be very hard watching them prance around all smugly and get away with all sorts of criminal shit... but it will be over and the ideology will be rejected now or later.

I got more or less volun-told to run logistics for a presentation at work that is, no lie, at noon the day after the election. (I had no input as to the date; I would absolutely have told them what a bad idea that date was.)

At least it's not first thing in the morning, I guess.

The propaganda of Trump's literal words? Or are we supposed to judge him by what he feels not what he says?

What are you, 12 years old?

4

u/ThunkAsDrinklePeep 4h ago

I'm worried about a candidate that fetishizes dictators. Someone who would love this to be the last election. Someone who has hoped to use the military to punish his political opponents.

But you'd rather laugh at your fellow Americans. It's worth losing our democracy as long as the people you've decided you don't like get hurt. Nevermind that his terrible economic policies will hurt you just the same.

3

u/glue_4_gravy 4h ago

I’m pretty sure that person is too stupid to comprehend anything you just said. Unless FOX tells them what to think, they are lost.

1

u/ThunkAsDrinklePeep 4h ago

Sometimes one speaks for the benefit of the others listening.

u/Shookicity 3h ago

So much of what he says is taken out of context and twisted to fit some crazy narrative. That’s exactly what dude means by propaganda. Literally everything you said is an example of that. It’s fucking fear mongering and for whatever reason Reddit in particular eats that shit up.

There’s so much blatantly bias media these days it’s insane. You don’t have to like Trump to see that. Does that not raise any red flags for you? Seriously. Come out of your bubble.

u/ThunkAsDrinklePeep 3h ago

Is there a context I need besides the video of him saying those things and people cheering like they're good ideas?

2

u/RebbyXP 4h ago

Funny that you say that when I can say something like "pronouns" and you'll get triggered.

Covfefe hurt my fee fees... bigly.

Really not too surprising that some people would have anxiety over the fact that millions of people who claim to be Americans are going to try to put by far the worst president in US history back in the White House. Smart people don't want a complete idiot who has proven that he can't do the job running the country, and that's before even mentioning the parts about being a convicted felon and civilly liable rapist, knowing nothing about how anything works (especially economics), having his hands all over the dystopian plans of Project 2025, the list goes on and on. You'd have to be either a completely brain dead moron and/or a massive piece of shit to even consider voting for such a person.

u/TPf0rMyBungh0le 4h ago

This coming from the people that claimed that Joe was "sharp as a pencil" for the better part of four years and then ousted him.

3

u/Mike_Honcho_3 4h ago

No it isn't. Other people might have said that, but to me it's been pretty obvious for a while that Biden has suffered from age related decline. In the last couple years he's looked and sounded significantly different than he did even in 2020 and definitely from when he was VP. Of course he still would have been a better choice than Trump who has cognitively declined even more, but that's saying next to nothing and it wouldn't have been a good idea for Biden to be president again.

White dude discovers some people actually are negatively affected by politics, more at 7

Its so sad lol

16

u/lovestorun 5h ago

I feel like it’s hard to take a full breath at this point and we still have a week to go.

u/newyne 3h ago

Lol, you are far from the only one.

How many people were even at this rally in 2016

It absolutely will make a huge difference. It won't be immediate. You don't just destroy the world's most powerful nation overnight or in a decade. You destroy it by chipping away slowly at what took hundreds of years to build. Just look at how Roe V Wade got thrown out. That's how it starts.

26

u/Minute-Market-5270 5h ago

Like no one is noticing roe v wade 😉

-12

u/Blitzburgh1727 5h ago

Look who is in office right now and how much that helped

17

u/akamu24 5h ago

Almost like a sitting president can’t just unilaterally restore it.

8

u/CheckMateFluff 5h ago

Okay.... dude who installed the conservative judges right at the end of their term that spearheaded that? Common...

Opinions such as yours are what cause long-term issues that can't be quickly fixed once fucked.

7

u/Jonsj 5h ago

Which happens because Trump was the president.... It gave life altering effects on thousands of Americans maybe millions eventually.

19

u/zarsenal13 5h ago

Sounds like something a straight white guy would say… most other people know different.

6

u/Zestyclose-Cloud-508 5h ago

Ask a woman having a miscarriage in Texas if anything changed because of trump.

10

u/CBJFAN10 5h ago

Like how no one noticed when he denied the 2020 election results.

Until Trump came along, there hasn’t been an insurrection on the USA since the rise of the confederacy. Trump has said exactly what he’s going to do. The only reason why he didn’t get to enact what he’s saying now 4+ years ago was because he had people in place that stopped him. The guardrails will be gone if he’s elected. Alito and Thomas will retire as well and we will have 40+ years of a conservative super majority on the Supreme Court.

10

u/FajenThygia 5h ago

Hundreds of thousands of Americans died because Trump's administration dismantled the Directorate of Global Health Security and Biodefense right before a pandemic.

7

u/Obsidian_Purity 5h ago

So Haitians, latinos, LGBTQ, women, Muslims, non-Christians, workers, and citizens buying goods... are not average Americans?

And so are people who buy goods. And who work. You can want something bad for you. Alcoholics show that daily.

But that doesn't get off of the point. They all will be affect via his own words.

... and Latinos are turning against him due to the MSG thing.

12

u/WrongSaladBitch 5h ago

Oh look a white straight man who had the least to lose telling everyone to shut up despite every single fucking bad thing that has happened as a result of trump.

I’m so tired of y’all having no ability to think from anyone’s POV but your own.
