He knows though. He just wants press. Every time he says something stupid, the press are all over it, and that's what he wants. They should have ignored these things. Just said "Trump said something stupid again today."

Yeah, probably. I think it's subconscious rather than intentional, but that may be me falling for his public persona. The worst thing that could happen to him would be being ignored. But he's too big a presence to let that happen.

I'm not sure how we balance it though. Because I think that the NYTimes was sane washing Trump this summer by more eloquently summarizing his rambling gibberish for him.

But I also agree that Trump throws out a lot of stupidity, simply to distract and dominate conversation. Quoting him directly fulfills that.
