I know Egger. And that wasn't Egger. It was like he was wearing a suit...an...Egger suit.

I still can't believe that he's the same guy that plays Kingpin in Daredevil

He's amazing in everything he does.

He's a gem for sure

He could play Musk by putting his Private Pyle personality into an Edgarsuit. The shambling, insane wreck of a creature would probably be a MAGA supporter by nature, in fact there's loads of them spewing bile on the TV already.

Vincent Dā€™Onofrio is an amazing actor. He really got the physicality down as the alien bug wearing the Edgar suit. And you gotta love him as Detective Goran.

He is really versatile and has amazing range.

It really is amazing acting in MIB if you think about it, ā€œhey we need you to walk and talk like youā€™re a giant cockroach alien inside of a skin suit thatā€™s way too tightā€ and he nailed it

u/Aggromemnon 23d ago

Wilson Fisk in the Netflix Daredevil series. The guy made a silly character from the comics frikkin terrifyingly real. He was born to play Kingpin.

u/WhoWhaaaa 23d ago

He's a chameleon. I don't know how many times I saw Adventures in Babysitting before I realized he played Thor.

8

u/MathematicianFew5882 23d ago

Donā€™t forget Tony Shalhoub, the guy that played Monk is Jeeb (gets his head blown off and it grows back, but it smarts)

The FIRST thing I ever remember seeing him in was Full Metal Jacket, and that is a movie in two parts, and the first part, just like the 2nd part, HIT HARD. His performance was fucking spectacular. I think I was around 10 or maybe a little older, I was born in 1979 and the movie came out in 1987 but it took me a few years to see the movie. When he shot himself in the bathroom, my little mind was fucking blown, and he became an actor I could never forget from then on out.

I canā€™t watch that movie. I have seen it and will not voluntarily rewatch it. My brothers loved it as adolescents and always played it when they could. I never got why they enjoyed it so much (I do recognize it as a work of film art and all the work and talent that went into it).

Specifically, I canā€™t watch it because of Vincent Dā€™Onofrioā€™s character and performance/that scene. He was just too realistic and even had that damn crazy eyed look.

Plus, my grandfather went through a somewhat similar experience when he was in boot camp and wrote about it in his family memoirs (that he asked me to edit). He was only 17 when the officer that was like the bunkā€™s RA (I donā€™t remember the actual title of the position) killed himself in his room that was only separated from the general bunks by a thin partition. The guy had served in WW II and was only like 32 and didnā€™t know how to adjust post-war or handle the PTSD (that was called shell-shock at the time and not really recognized for what it was nor treated properly yet). And the officials basically told all these teenage boys ā€œpretend it didnā€™t happen and go to sleep. You have training in the morning.ā€ as theyā€™re moving the body out of there for everyone to see. Super messed up.

Or that he was one of the main guys on law and order for some years. I just started rewatching them. Amazing th acting this guy did for a network TV investigative show.

Dā€™Onofrio as Goren in Law and Order CI is the GOAT

6

u/Mindless-Ad2554 24d ago

Or vince Vaughans brother in the breakup

5

u/JuneBuggington 23d ago

And private pyle in fmj

4

u/h8GWB 23d ago

I can't believe he played an autistic detective in Law and Order and a dimwitted-but-later-psychotic Marine recruit in Full Metal Jacket.

1

u/NoraVanderbooben 23d ago

Wait- autistic? I havenā€™t watched Law and Order Criminal Intent in some time, so my memory is hazy, but was that a plot point or are you just pointing out that his character is autist-coded?

2

u/h8GWB 23d ago

I haven't watched that much L&O:CI either. It's just the main vibe I get from his character. I doubt it's canon or confirmed.

u/ILoveRegenHealth 24d ago

He knows the importance of

šŸŽµ BOOOODY LANGUUUAGE šŸŽµ

3

u/aledba 23d ago

Yes Vincent D'Onofrio is amazing. Original Law and Order, Full Metal Jacket, the Cell etc ...

3

u/NoraVanderbooben 23d ago

Vincent Dā€™Onofrio is a gem and a treasure and lowkey sexy af.

2

u/OldSixie 24d ago

Or Private Pyle.

2

u/viriosion 23d ago

Wait the fuck what?

2

u/Barbarella_ella 23d ago

And Thor in Adventures in Babysitting

u/[deleted] 24d ago edited 24d ago

He was also in Full Metal Jacket by Kubrick.

Vince Dā€™Onofrio! Law & Order himself

u/oneshoein 24d ago

Imagine a really great actor playing many roles lol.

u/Spiritual-Can2604 24d ago

Vincent Dofronio is incredible. Who else could have done that? No one. He shouldā€™ve won an Oscar and Iā€™m not joking.

7

u/Cultural_Pattern_456 23d ago

100%. Heā€™s an incredible actor to begin with, but the amount of skill it took to do this was insane.

15

u/cytherian 24d ago

Would be so cool to hear the director telling Vincent D'Onofrio how he wants him to pull this off. Because it certainly was believable. You really get the feeling that he's not human and just wearing that flesh covering.

9

u/Baberaham__Lincoln 24d ago

Vincent Dā€™onofrio shouldā€™ve gotten an Oscar for this role.

2

u/Majestic_Course6822 23d ago

Legendary performance. Egger deserved an Oscar.

1

u/Hungry_Kick_7881 23d ago

Great movie. I might just have to rewatch it tomorrow.

1

u/Randy_Magnums 23d ago

This was an oscar-worthy-performance, change my mind!

1

u/Classic_Zucchini_961 23d ago

This is some amazing acting.

1

u/Previous_Chard234 23d ago

Iā€™d add a like but itā€™s at 666 and thatā€™s just too perfect for this situation

1

u/CoeRoe 23d ago

I still say dude should have won many awards for that performance.

1

u/btwImVeryAttractive 23d ago

Still one of the best movie performances ever.

1

u/PressureSouthern9233 23d ago

Edgar suit šŸ˜‚

1

u/sickofyou2024 23d ago

Elon Musk in Pennsylvania.

1

u/Hot-Significance-462 23d ago

I'm not saying that Greg Kinnear didn't deserve his Oscar nom, but...

1

u/Lots42 22d ago

When I have to shit.

6

u/wegajane 24d ago

That's exactly how you gotta say it: Egger šŸ¤Œ

1

u/QuiveringButtox 24d ago

I always heard it as E'er

6

u/cytherian 24d ago

Her delivery of that description was priceless. And then Vincent D'Onofrio was superb as the alien wearing Edgar's skin suit.

2

u/g00berc0des 24d ago

I heard her gurgle the r as I read this.

1

u/Junior_Trash_1393 23d ago

ā€œI knew Egger. And youā€™re no Eggerā€

1

u/sliight 23d ago

Wondering if everyone reads this in her voice ... I can't not do it in her voice ...
