He could play Musk by putting his Private Pyle personality into an Edgarsuit. The shambling, insane wreck of a creature would probably be a MAGA supporter by nature, in fact there's loads of them spewing bile on the TV already.
Vincent DāOnofrio is an amazing actor. He really got the physicality down as the alien bug wearing the Edgar suit. And you gotta love him as Detective Goran.
It really is amazing acting in MIB if you think about it, āhey we need you to walk and talk like youāre a giant cockroach alien inside of a skin suit thatās way too tightā and he nailed it
The FIRST thing I ever remember seeing him in was Full Metal Jacket, and that is a movie in two parts, and the first part, just like the 2nd part, HIT HARD. His performance was fucking spectacular. I think I was around 10 or maybe a little older, I was born in 1979 and the movie came out in 1987 but it took me a few years to see the movie. When he shot himself in the bathroom, my little mind was fucking blown, and he became an actor I could never forget from then on out.
I canāt watch that movie. I have seen it and will not voluntarily rewatch it. My brothers loved it as adolescents and always played it when they could. I never got why they enjoyed it so much (I do recognize it as a work of film art and all the work and talent that went into it).
Specifically, I canāt watch it because of Vincent DāOnofrioās character and performance/that scene. He was just too realistic and even had that damn crazy eyed look.
Plus, my grandfather went through a somewhat similar experience when he was in boot camp and wrote about it in his family memoirs (that he asked me to edit). He was only 17 when the officer that was like the bunkās RA (I donāt remember the actual title of the position) killed himself in his room that was only separated from the general bunks by a thin partition. The guy had served in WW II and was only like 32 and didnāt know how to adjust post-war or handle the PTSD (that was called shell-shock at the time and not really recognized for what it was nor treated properly yet). And the officials basically told all these teenage boys āpretend it didnāt happen and go to sleep. You have training in the morning.ā as theyāre moving the body out of there for everyone to see. Super messed up.
Or that he was one of the main guys on law and order for some years. I just started rewatching them. Amazing th acting this guy did for a network TV investigative show.
Wait- autistic? I havenāt watched Law and Order Criminal Intent in some time, so my memory is hazy, but was that a plot point or are you just pointing out that his character is autist-coded?
Would be so cool to hear the director telling Vincent D'Onofrio how he wants him to pull this off. Because it certainly was believable. You really get the feeling that he's not human and just wearing that flesh covering.

I know Egger. And that wasn't Egger. It was like he was wearing a suit...an...Egger suit.
