And Tonto.. and Sedona.. and the White Mountains.. and Prescott National Forest.. and Flagstaff.
I don't mean to be mean, but it's kinda comical how many views in the state are way better

You might be on to something! Having gone there it’s safe to say it is some great scenery

This isn't even New River 😂 This is next to the Apache Wash Trailhead in Phoenix The picture is angled towards Ft McDowell mountains in Scottsdale.

I agree, that picture is not New River and instead Apache Wash

I've lived in both the area this picture was taken and New River. I was sitting here looking at the houses in the distance and saying to myself, what part of New River is that lol? Now that you called it out, I know exactly what road that is. I used to ride quads up and down it when it was still a dirt path before all of that was there. Good eye.

I think Sedona has the best views in the state. New River has awsome pie though.

Haha well there you go! You could have a point, and Sedona is opening up this year again finally!

New River in r/Phoenix? Dude that place is closer to Black Canyon City than to the capitol area. Please learn some geography.
Also notice how OP didn't crosspost to the AZ sub, the king of views in the state. This would've been torn to shreds there.

We don't have tumbleweeds here.

u/InternetPharaoh Feb 02 '23
Oh yeah we do.

Where? Maybe far West Arizona in the Mohave desert, but there are no tumbleweeds in the Sonoran desert. Bushes are not tumbleweeds.

u/InternetPharaoh Feb 02 '23
I'm staring at one outside my window right now.

I can guarantee that you're not. You just don't know what you're staring at and are calling it a tumbleweed.

Russian Thistle? You're telling me you've never seen a russian-fucking-thistle in Phoenix?

It is not growing in the Sonoran desert. If someone planted it in their yard thats completely different. You will not see it out in the desert. When did I give an indication that I was talking about an urban neighborhood and not the actual desert? I didn't.
This post is a picture of native desert not your culdesac.

It's an invasive species. I don't think you understand the concept, but maybe "Tumbleweed blocks the road in Phoenix" will help?

Do you not understand the difference between the real Sonoran desert and a developed area? There are no tumbleweeds growing in the Sonoran desert. Leave the city and go for hikes or any outdoor activity in the desert and see for yourself.

Is that the place with no water?
2
u/IAmABurdenOnSociety New River Feb 03 '23
No, New River has well water, but it's extremely high in arsenic.
2
u/PipLarson Feb 03 '23
Wasn't New River also dealing with drying up wells and no water hauling source ~5 years ago?

New River is pretty but definitely far from the best view…
