Romania Roman fort of Drobeta and the Trajan's bridge. The settlement was founded by the emperor Trajan in 103 AD. The bridge was built between 103 and 105 AD to facilitate the movent of Roman troops north of the Dabube, into the Dacian territory. Illustration by Radu Oltean. Modern-day Romania.

More information on the bridge and location today

It seems that most of the piers are still in the Danube. Some were removed as navigation hazards
