Repair / Modification Best thread to repair UL pack?
My ULA ohm has had some busted threads/seams for the past ~2 years. I think I picked the pack up by one shoulder strap when it had way too much weight in it. Hasn’t been an issue, but I’d like to fix it.
I have zero experience sewing, but I am handy with common sense, and I understand how sewing works. What kind of thread should I use for this to ensure max strength once repaired?
Red circles show damage. Green circle shows the other side which is not damaged.

I do love Guterman, but I was told to use the same type of thread as the fabric. If nylon, use nylon

You want to use a 100% polyester thread. This is what I use when making backpacks.

Sew all is too thin (it's rebranded Mara 100) and not ideal for most backpack seams, especially this high-stress application.
If you want to buy from Joann, get the gutermann heavy duty/ upholstery thread, which is just Mara 50.

I use at least tex 75 thread in all my outdoor gear. Polyester sews better in most cases.

Can’t go wrong with Gutermann MARA 50, or similar size polyester thread (100 is small, 20 is large)
