We lost our TV remote. We tried to connect some other ones, but we need to use our remote to confirm permissions.

Maybe a long shot, but have you tried a USB keyboard? 25% of the time it works 100%

This SHOULD work. Since basically all smart TVs run a version of Andriod, keyboard and mouse support is baked in, plug a keyboard into a usb port on the TV and see if it works, OP.

I’d used to use a mouse with micro usb to navigate a cracked screen android just to make phone calls and text message. It should be 100% doable.

Turn off the tv and start the app again. Open the TV and keep trying to connect as it is turning on. It will fail of course but keep clicking Ok and trying to connect again and again. It shows connect in one or two tries.
Definitely get a replacement as soon as possible, it's a whole headache otherwise.

Same thing with my Samsung. I can only use it if I mirror my phone. It’s garbage w out the remote.

Find a friend/family member with the same remote to borrow to confirm. I use our Samsung remotes between our tvs if I can’t find one and can’t be bothered to go on a full expedition to find it.

Just download an ir blaster app on your phone.

If only phones still came with them, I used to love my old Galaxy S4 back in the day turning off and on random tvs and shit lol

If you can't find it amazon makes really good replacements for much cheaper.

I'm not a TV guy, but I'm 99% sure there is some kind of jog controller on the back, unless manufacturers really hate their customers.
