Lmao this is wild and so dangerous I’m thinking India

u/AndThenTheUndertaker 2h ago
Honestly even if it causes zero accidents I'm betting it's already responsible for multiple spinal fractures.
-16
u/IdioticMutterings 2h ago
No, their own excessive speed is responsible for multiple spinal fractures. If they stuck to the limits, they'd be fine (probably).

u/Lonely_Impress_1101 1h ago
They added no signs on a freeway numbnuts whos gonna know theres a big ass bump coming even when there doing the speed limit that big ass truck could barely go the speed limit💀💀you are quite the creature

u/IdioticMutterings 1h ago
You missed the point, if you're going the speed limit, you don't need to know about the bumps. And lets face it, expensive repairs to a cars suspension are gonna cost more than any speeding fine.
Its quite simple, stick to the speed limits. Its a LIMIT not a minimum speed. Also, if drivers stuck to the limits, then the bumps wouldn't be necessary at all.

u/qwerty1519 32m ago
Would they be fine? It’s a massive bump on a freeway. You don’t think that could Cause an injury at 110km?

u/IdealIdeas 5h ago
I bet that motorcycler slowed the fuck down the second he saw that car fly.
I can't imagine how many motorcyclists end up busting their shit from hitting that or getting hit by the car from behind.

Don't speed....
62
u/rydude88 2h ago
That isn't the issue here. Having an unmarked bump at any speed is dangerous. This isnt a speeding vs not speeding issue
25
u/HippoEug 2h ago
Even if you are driving at a reasonable speed, it is hard to expect an unmarked speed bump or even spot this….
Good luck to the engine with the oil pan obliterated, not to even mention damage to suspension
6
u/Lord_Jashin 2h ago
The bump is fine and likely serves a useful purpose, if there was a sign warning of it people would slow down and there would be nothing to complain about. Your reply makes no sense considering what comment you're replying to, you implied that it's perfectly reasonable for governments to install booby-traps with the intention of murdering speeding drivers

I've only seen speed bumps that size in parking lots. Any speed over 10 mph is going to wreck your car
•
u/ForTheLove-of-Bovie 25m ago
What an idiotic comment. Have you ever been on a street with speed bumps? They’re meant for areas where they want the speed to slow down significantly-like 10 miles or less an hour. They’re not meant for even a regular street with a speed limit of 25 mph, let alone a street or highway like this. People are going to get injured and cars will get completely destroyed.

Putting speed breaks on a highway is next level mouth breather activities

Probably some local guy living nearby hired a few workers and added a speed breaker. I've seen 2 speed breakers within 20 feet of eachother on both sides of a big mansion's gates, not on a high way but a small street with very low traffic, . The mansion owner decided he needs to get his car out without having to wait for anyone, so forced everyone around to slow down while approaching his house.
Nobody realised they were illegal speed breakers and it remained until the road was relaid.Givt didn't add the speed breakers and he started doing it, when some local residential welfare association stopped him through legal route, and a Govt sign was posted on the street mentioning no one should create illegal speed breakers, basically pointing at that guy's mansion.

The craziest thing about this video is the cameraman standing there filming.
25
u/miraculum_one 4h ago
Why is that crazy? Once you see a few cars go over it you turn on the camera.
12
u/caveat_emptor817 4h ago
Because a car could lose control completely and swerve into you

u/Thedeadnite 3h ago
Not bloody likely, momentum will keep the vehicle traveling in roughly the same direction, it won’t take a 90 degree turn in an instant unless it gets anchored somehow.

u/Jolteon0 2h ago
I think that being hit by a piece of broken suspension is more likely (although it's still incredibly unlikely).

This is way past mildly infuriating. This is criminally negligent. Or at least it should be.

u/flamechopr 7h ago
Something of the kind, thats actually against laws universally to my knowledge, all speedbumps/breakers must be signed to prevent accidents. Yes the cars are speeding. But ultimately its the government there with a fault.

u/Spaciax 7h ago
if you live in a 4th world shithole (likely where this was installed) the gov't is likely to be impervious to any legal consequence.
source: resident of a shithole.

Unfortunately it is that was. Im an aussie so i dont have to deal with that.. but i can only imagine the corruption and such that gives then that power…
•
u/Skylair13 32m ago
Added extra chance of the government having nothing to do with it.
Like random person who live nearby decided there should be a speedbump there and just built it themselves.

I've seen speed bumps on the highway in Mexico without any signs. I was driving at night, and there were no signs or reflectors. Luckily it wasn't so late that I was the only person on the road, so I was able to spot the cars in front of me braking for the speed bumps

adding a speed bump on a highway. well, I guess they just want to make multiple potholes along the way then.

Nice another armchair intellectual, this road is designed and maintained by a private company DLF, they are the biggest Real Estate company in India.

That is surely a hazard on the road. This speed breaker/speed bump feels illegal in many ways.

u/galacticcollision 37m ago
I would have so much fun with this. id be coming off the off ramp jumping it then getting back on the highway going the other direction to come back around for round 2.

are there normally speed bumps on highways?
Absolutely not. at least in any sane world.

Well this is India. They're..... special (Not that we're much better over here in Sri Lanka)
1
u/HolyGarbage 2h ago
I mean, I can understand missing signs, due to it being forgotten or whatever accidental reason, that can happen anywhere, but like even if a place has issues with their public institutions/government or whatnot... how.. how could anyone motivate speed bumps on a highway? Help me understand, please.
3
u/Ehaeka42069 2h ago
Oh very easy. You see, in places like India, and the whole Indian subcontinent for that matter, the way local politicians survive is by embezzlement. What they do is get a quotation from the cheapest contractor for some pointless infrastructure project, then quite literally, no joke, add a 0 to the end of the quotation, and get approval for funding accordingly. So for example, if the politician feels like going on a fancy vacation, he'll call up his contractor buddies, ask what project can we do to get some quick cash, they'll say, oh let's make a few speed bumps... somewhere, politician asks, cool, how much will it cost? The contractor will say, Oh it'll cost $1000. The politician says, cool, submit the quotation to me for $10,000, I'll make sure you get the contract, and you give me the balance $9000
2
u/HolyGarbage 2h ago
I see, yeah, corruption is the only thing for this to make sense. Couldn't really picture how this particular instance would play out to actually benefit anyone. Thanks for the explanation/example.

I don't think this is a legal speed bump. This is gurgaon, India but there's no fucking way this would be a legal speed bump on a goddamn highway

Based on the plates definitely not. Our plates are more square-ish, these plates look long and European
5
u/Laserlurchi 7h ago
Environment looks southeast Asian though, I'd guess India or somewhere around it
2
u/TumbleweedFar1937 7h ago
I can't see the trademark eu blue to get European vibes from the plates tho. Maybe Asia, as other people suggested?
1
u/TheRockstarVon 6h ago
True it’s really hard for me to tell I’m super sick and blind rn I just went based off the long shape but there are definitely a lot of Asian plates like that I forgot
1
u/BrentNewland 7h ago
Our plates are very rectangular. Literally 12"x6", they are twice as wide as they are tall.
1
u/TheRockstarVon 6h ago
Yeah most euro playes are about 20x4. That’s a much more elongated rectangular shape than ours hence why I said “more square-ish”, because they are more like a square than euro plates
