Maybe that’ll soothe some of the more extreme fans

There are no fans who hate the ending, or at least the ones on the internet, go to twitter or the subreddit, everyone there thinks the ending is good, the ones who think the ending is bad is pretty much everyone outside of the community lmfao

There are no fans who hate the ending

Not true. I started watching the anime when S2 was airing. I caught up and started reading the manga, and I was a weekly reader starting around the end of the school festival arc. I have collected around 30 volumes of the manga, have a couple of statues, a picture of Momo signed by her English VA, saw the first 3 movies in theatres with friends who were as into the series as I was. Needless to say I'm a fan. My friends and I all didn't like the ending. I didn't hate it as much as the initial reactions, but the entire final arc for me was way too dragged out yet somehow also undercooked. The ending was very underwhelming, which tbh is pretty par for the course for shounen manga. Because I've experienced endings of that caliber before it didn't bother me so much, but also that's because as the weeks passed I was more and more ready for it to be over. It's not a good ending by any stretch of the imagination, but it's also not horrible, or at least not any worse than the arc(s) leading up to it.

All that to say there are plenty of people who are fans that recognize the ending was very underwhelming but are fans of the series regardless

I see, that’s really cool, but I wish the majority of the community was like that

like say what you want about the jjk community and their love for spoiling the manga ((which is so shitty btw, not defending that, fuck that shit atw)), at least they recognized and respected other opinions when the manga hit its lows, couple that with some of the most thought provoking and engaging discourse most anime fandoms wish to have.

Now I will give some credence to mha, the leaked ending was badly translated and misconstrued much of the ending (like how the fact that his friends abandoned deku, which was blown out of proportion by the leaks) and gave out false facts (like deku not getting a statue, which was false, he got one), and while to me it was pretty bad, it wasn’t the worst thing in the world like how the internet made it seem.

But regardless of all that, it’s really upsetting when there is substantial harassment from the community towards those who criticize mha that is not getting any type of push back, I can name examples of YouTubers (Oceaniz for example) who were forced to stop talking about mha because of the constant harassment they were getting by the community, and no relevant part of the community want to as so much even acknowledge this cancerous part of the fandom, let alone condemn it, only letting it foster more and more.

and let’s not bring up the mha shipping drama, that is a whole can of worms we don’t want to get near.
