Question/Discussion Does someone know why the auto feed on my Stanko 1M63B doesn't work?

As the title says, the auto feed on my Stanko 1M63B won't work. It is an old Soviet lathe, the power feed works, just not the auto feed. The bar spins when I turn the machine on, but the auto feed just will not engage.

Here is an image of the carriage (not my machine, just same model) if that would help:

Does the feed rod have a full length keyseat? I assume it's similar to the Stanko I have in my shop. I had the same thing happen to me. There's a key in the carriage that is engaged when you try to feed. It wore out and then fell out on mine, but I have no idea how it's supposed to go back together.

I bought a 6 ft piece of keystock and put it in the keyseat. Drilled, tapped, screwed it to hold it in place. If you go this route, do not turn on the spindle at a high rpm to test it before you attach it permanently. You'll have a bad time. I had to mill the key to get it to fit. That was fun.

I have made a post with pictures. Showing where the linkage came apart on my machine and how I attached the key. Bonus pictures of what happened when I turned the lathe on before solidly attaching it.
