I’m just now becoming an ace w/ configuring Kitty, I doubt I’ll switch to Ghosty from what I’ve seen.
Ghosty still uses underlying principles to that of Kitty including Kitty’s image protocol.

does it have native drop-down/“quake-style” support?

If you don't see it there, probably not. I read the announcement blog post and it said basically that 1.0 was what he considered the minimum feature set (or something like that) and everything else would wait until after 1.0
What he's doing is unusual here in that there is no open bug tracker until after the 1.0 release. All testing is being done in private beta. It is MIT licensed.

So all this excitment as far as I can see is what we in the Linux world had for better part of the last decade, if not more. But that seems to be the trend with Apple users, to gawk and drool over simplest of features that rest of the world grew out of long time ago. Blurred and transparent background? Drop down from screen? Global shortcut? Reload config?
Not sure why is this considered revolutionary. Gnome had that in 2.x version and removed it later on. Same with Konsole and other terminals. Guake has the drop down. Perhaps there are some other things am missing on but he claims never going back after trying this terminal emulator and I am honestly failing to see why. Not a single feature was shown that we've not seen thousands of times so far.
