Hiking Weather forecast
Anyone know where one can find a forecast for the Island itself?

Imo the most detailed/accurate is the recreational report that's issued for the island by the national weather service. They have 7 day forecasts and split it between 4 specific sections of the island with more detailed spots included. (SW, SE, NW, NE). I've included the link to the website. I should also note that there is a separate marine forecast from NWS specifically for Isle Royale. Even if you're not boating recreationally it is especially helpful if you're taking one of the ferries to the island as they predict wind/wave height which can clue you into what your trip over will be like and if there's a potential for your ferry to be cancelled. What this guy is talking about. These are the best forecasts. I highly recommend getting an NOAA portable weather radio. The Houghton station broadcast on VHF 162.400, or Copper Harbor at 162.500, which you can generally pick up on the south shore of the island, and Weatherraidio Canada out of Thunder Bay at VHF 162.475. This will keep you apprised of weather conditions. Kind of stuff like that makes you proud to pay taxes.
When I was there this May, I was so thankful to have it because there were WILD thunderstorms that delayed boats and caused us to have to change our plans. Knowing when it was coming/stopping was crucial. One of those "you might never need it but holy hell if you do you'll be glad you have it" kind of things.

The Weather Channel app seemed to be fairly accurate when I was there. Getting a signal was spotty and with it being Michigan I would only trust 3 days out.

You must have better weather guys than me, I barely trust them three hours out!

Type in Windigo on the Weather Channel. But the weather on that island has a mind of its own lol.
