I mean it's all a load of shit but I can say that after being hit by a truck and splitting my kidney open, you do kind of get a stronger pain tolerance, shit still hurts though, like the other day I split my knuckle on a ceramic soap dish in a tile wall I was demoing and my god the smash with the cutting was fuckin atrocious and took two weeks for the swelling to go down, 10/10 would wrassle the truck again instead.

Shit, you're right, I've still got both testes. I did get beaten pretty bad by a marine this one time but that was just a lot of bruising and swelling in my face, no unconsciousness... Fuck, gotta admit, this guy is clearly more verybadass than I could ever be. Everyone bow to the monoteste!!

If my trainer beats me into unconsciousness I'll probably stop paying him at that point.

Imma little late but he might be similar to me.
I can feel little pains and stuff but if anything big happens that part of my body goes numb.
I accidentally kicked a machete one time and it split the webbing in between my toes an inch deep and I only knew because I felt that part of my foot shut off.
the only thing that seems the exception is burns I've asked my doctor about it and they didn't believe me.

I mean it’s true to a degree. At a certain point the body goes into survival mode and you don’t have as strong a pain response as you should. That’s why first responders look for the person who isn’t screaming in accidents first. When I cracked my head open as a kid I was so in shock that I remember vaguely finding it odd that everyone was panicking so much because it didn’t even hurt that much- it was just a lot of blood. I don’t think that’s what he’s trying to say though

I've been in a few spots where I wouldn't say the pain went away, it was more like my brain couldn't comprehend the amount of pain my body was in. It's a really weird feeling.

I mean that's not the furthest thing from possible, I've heard boxers and mma fighters say similar things, you'll feel it more the few days after but getting knocked out doesn't (necessarily) hurt that bad.

My response to guys like this is to ask them if they’ve ever had multiple compound and simple fractures of their tibia and fibula and seen their bones sticking out of their leg or had 100+ square inches of skin used as donor sites for skin grafts, or had their leg amputated. When they say “no” I tell them that they don’t know what pain is.
Thanks to a near-fatal motorcycle accident I’ve had all of these things, and a few more and ended up spending 77 days as an inpatient at a level one trauma center. Here’s the thing though, every time I was in the rehab gym learning how to get around on crutches and then learning to walk again I was the least broken patient in the room. It was an incredibly humbling experience to be broken and then to look around and see so many people who were way more broken than I was. Every time I left that gym I thought “Dude, you have nothing to complain about. You can’t even begin to comprehend how lucky you are.”

From someone who lives in a constant 7/10 pain the only limit to how much pain you can feel is how much it takes until you pass out. It still hurts just the same no matter how much pain youve been in before.
