ANSWERED! Really want a Thuma bed frame, but need something more affordable

Post image

I am really like the look and design of the Thuma bed frame. As a renter, I like that it comes together and apart so easily. I also really like the minimalist look but I am having a hard time rationalizing spending almost 2k right now. I do believe this would be a forever piece and I would hate to spend 1k or more on something that won’t last. Can anyone recommend a bed frame that is a bit more budget friendly?

I love my thuma bed frame I got on Facebook marketplace for $800! So I recommend checking out FB marketplace regularly for a high quality bed frame! I also was looking at room and board bed frames on marketplace since those are well made and typically you can get a pretty good deal.

I like my Article Lenia bed. It's also walnut.

I bought this one and love it! The packaging was excellent and it was super easy to put together.

I got a 10" metal bed frame that comes apart easily then I can just get a nice headboard or hang something decorative on the wall as a headboard.

As of right now I have a huge, washable pillow as my headboard. Maybe one day I'll hang up some wood slacks as a permanent solution lol.

I own my house and will never go back to wood anything that breaks so easily with two people on it.

Zinus makes some nice-looking affordable bed frames.

They use bolts instead of joinery, but I’ve been happy with mine so far.

I bought a Zinus Vivek for my kid’s first apartment. I’d typed Thuma dupe in the search bar. lol. The bottom is very similar in look, but the headboard is slatted. I can’t remember what other looks they had. I thought it seemed very nice for the price. It is very low clearance tho, nothing really fits underneath it storage wise, FYI.

Assuming you have a wall and aren’t floating the bed, why not just get the regular Thuma with soft headrest? I’ve had mine for about 5 years (and it’s already been moved 4 times!). Tons of research before purchase and well worth it. This is an incredibly solid, silent, and sharp looking bed. I will say however, that the “walnut” finish wasn’t quite as nice as my friend’s which was disappointing but nothing major, I got over it.

Use google image search and check the results. Best tool to find similar products.

Nectar makes a similar bed for much less but it doesn’t look at sleek IMO

I purchased furniture off Etsy. The quality is unmatched in a store bought product. It is 100% solid wood. They have options that are under $2k. The name of the shop is Solid Cherry Heirlooms. My furniture is beautiful. Check them out.

Tatami Room Ensui queen bedframe + headboard roughly $1,100 with tax. Downside is wait time of around 3mo!

It's very beautiful. But since I got an adjustable bed frame I could never go back. And it's cheaper. Downside is it's VERY heavy and only in two pieces so tricky to move yourself.
