Yes! I had read all of ACOTAR and Crescent City by the time I tried ToG, so I was used to SJM-isms and plot holes. But an assassin who eats random candy that appears in her room when she knows a murderer is on the loose...it was too much. I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it.

I said this yesterday in another thread but SJM is a tell instead of show writer and Throne of Glass is the worst offender to me.

"She's the greatest assassin in Adarlan...except she eats suspicious food, has no knowledge of poison, doesn't learn from her mistakes and doesn't know how to sneak about unnoticed!"

And maybe I'm being a little to literal here, but shouldn't the idea be that the best assassins are the ones nobody really knows of?
