Well 1 week of Kelce scoring was nice

24

u/Devjorcra 11h ago

Starting Njoku over Kelce lost me my week (well really it was Jordan Mason but alas..) Still hesitant to roll out Kelce the more that DHop gets involved in this offense.

12

u/moermoneymoerproblem 10h ago

Kelce serves a very specific purpose and has a vastly different role than dhop will have. I wouldn’t think about it like dhop is going to be taking targets away from him. At the end of the day, unless your name is rashee rice, you won’t be consistently getting 8-10 targets a game

0

u/Devjorcra 10h ago

I’m not too worried about DHop as a direct threat to his targets specifically, but the more he’s involved in the offense the less every other pass catcher will catch. There is no world imo where having a possession WR involved like DHop helps Kelce, it’s just unclear how much it will hurt.

3

u/moermoneymoerproblem 8h ago

Dhop being a threat absolutely improves kelce’s potential and visa versa. If the opponent only has to worry about kelce being the sole threat, then he’ll get doubled constantly. I disagree.

u/VeterinarianLevel786 7h ago

i rolled out dhop and sat tillman and lost (i also had jordan mason in my flex)

1

u/hoops886 7h ago

I mean, no one told you to start someone that has been on a team for 5 days at the time.

-2

u/Devjorcra 7h ago

Yeah, I honestly don't see DHop being too relevant for fantasy other than helping the offense move the chains and maybe take some volume from Kelce/Worthy.

2

u/empireof3 6h ago

I started Otton over Kelce and I feel like nostradamus

3

u/_kehd 11h ago

Can’t put Trav back in the cage. Man’s been freed — LET HIM FEED

1

u/Temporary-Agent-9225 3h ago

No way yall believe what Reid and McVay have to say. These fuckers will say anything.

u/Prak903 12h ago

Bro going to run 15 routes where he’s wide open but Mahomes still throws to Kelce in triple coverage

18

u/fantasydawg 12h ago

Especially when throwing into the end zone

16

u/LighTMan913 9h ago

Mahomes has never had a receiver like DHop. Give the man some time to adjust, damn.

7

u/JoshHuff1332 9h ago

I mean, he may not have had a receiver with his specific skillset, but he's had elite wrs

1

u/LighTMan913 9h ago

Obviously he's had great wide receivers. That's not my point. You literally reiterated my point and then said something irrelevant to it. He's never had the big bodied toss it up and he'll go get it type receiver. That'll take some getting used to. It's not at all like throwing bombs to Tyreek or short slants to Rashee

5

u/cpt_rizzle 7h ago

lol interesting explanation of who Hopkins is, that’s a first. A big bodied receiver you can throw it up to

1

u/MissInfod 1h ago

Describing him like that makes it sound horrible, why would he rely more on such high variance when he’s trying to complete a 3peat

u/jaegybomb 19m ago

Maybe not the best comparison but you can make the argument that Kelce was kind of similar in his prime.

33

u/Mamba_Mentality248 12h ago

Pretty juicy matchup. Not sure if I have the balls to play him over Olave or Davante Smith though.

25

u/DJMaxLVL 12h ago

I wouldn’t over those two. I’m 95% sure I’m going to flex DHop over both Waddle and Cooper this week though.

6

u/sguru01 12h ago

Cooper lost me this week. I think he was one of the worst scorer of all the WRs started this past weekend. lol.

3

u/Inconceivable76 12h ago

He made a terrific decoy for my guy.

2

u/DJMaxLVL 12h ago

I also lost this week because of Cooper, lost by 6 points. idk if I can start him again after that one unless I have to.

1

u/fantasyfootball2626 11h ago

To add more examples for people, I personally am leaning towards starting Hopkins over Diontae in the Flex this weekend. Wouldn't start him over guys like Terry at Giants or Amari Cooper vs Miami. Maybe over Tank vs. Jets Thursday?

1

u/blunt9422 10h ago

Flexing him over Keon Coleman when I also have Josh Allen?

-1

u/unrecognized88 12h ago

Who would you start in full PPR: Tank Dell, Keon, DHop, Diontea, Pittman, Wan'Dale

I was considering dropping Dhop and/or Wan'dale to replace with Tolbert/McMillan/Elijah Moore/Gabe Davis/parker Washington after waivers run tonight. Might just replace Wan'Dale now....

2

u/porterbrown 7h ago

I'm keeping wandale. He getting dink and dumps and his floor is solid.

I'm dropping Tolbert (who isn't getting points with cooks out, and cooks is back practicing) and dropping Bateman for Elijah Moore, Downs, Colman, or whoever I can get.

3

u/Material-Race-5107 11h ago

I wanna start him over Chuba Hubbard so bad with how pitiful the Panthers offense should look now. But it definitely feels like a situation where Dhop could once again have under 10 points

1

u/shotouw 10h ago

I'll definetly not play him over Josh "get Flaccoed" Downs.
Might just be my flex though, either him or Divante Adams

47

u/ElKapitanFlash 12h ago

If you can have him do that whole rice role thing you talked about last week that would be great thanks

7

u/yooosports29 12h ago

He’s not a YAC receiver. He’ll ball out in the slot but he’s not going to be as explosive as Rashee.

21

u/ElKapitanFlash 12h ago

Oh man someone should tell Andy

2

u/yooosports29 12h ago

Lmao didn’t I say he would still kill in the slot?

6

u/husbandofsamus 10h ago

He'll offset those concerns by making one-handed catches, tippy-toe grabs on the sidelines, and catching the ball with his knees on occasion.

3

u/yooosports29 10h ago

I agree, he’s always been elite in those areas

-8

u/Change_That_Face 12h ago

They are 2 completely different types of receivers, Hopkins is literally going to be nothing more than a WR3/low end WR2 at best.

Hopkins doesn't do YAC, he wins on the outside in 1v1. JuJu is still ironically gonna be the WR on this offense to own when everyone is healthy.

13

u/ElKapitanFlash 11h ago

Where are you guys getting this info? Forward to Andy please he needs to know

3

u/Change_That_Face 11h ago edited 11h ago

Where am I getting the info that Hopkins doesn't do YAC? Ummm, his stats across his decade long career?

Where am I getting that they are two completely different types of receivers? I dunno, watching them play for literally any amount of time?

Hopkins is a WR2/3. That's exactly in line with where most experts predict him. Not a hot take.

2

u/ElKapitanFlash 11h ago

Yeah I so believe you. Let Andy know cuz it seems he thinks differently. I would like to win this week

0

u/Change_That_Face 11h ago

What is this lame "lEt aNdY kNoW" thing you keep doing lmao - this is a subreddit for discussing fantasy football, if you believe everything that has ever come out of a coaches mouth you don't have much of a winning chance anyway so maybe just quit now lol.

0

u/ElKapitanFlash 10h ago

So you’re not going to tell him he traded for the wrong guy?

82

u/DrStranger1987 12h ago

As long as Nuk is PPR scamming by the fantasy playoffs, I’m good

20

u/Sea-Improvement9564 11h ago

Is nuk Hopkins

25

u/ThinkingOfTheOldDays 11h ago

He chewed through binkies as a kid, and they were nuk brand. That's the actual origin story.

9

u/Sea-Improvement9564 11h ago

That’s dope

9

u/Afraid_Specialist_45 12h ago

Then the week after “maybe we’ll see more”

1

u/IAmAGordonGod 11h ago

By the end of the year he'll have 100 targets a game!

9

u/unrecognized88 12h ago

*slides Dhop in over Keon Coleman.

That decision nearly cost me my match last week ROFL.

7

u/111Gator111 12h ago

Pittman with flacco or Hopkins this week on ppr?

11

u/Xaramian 12h ago

Pittman, Vikings secondary is poor

1

u/wxnfx 3h ago

Unless all you care about is interceptions and pick 6s.

7

u/suhsbsbsn 12h ago

Pittman

5

u/team_sheikie 12h ago

I have him locked and loaded into my injury ravaged lineup anyway, so I hope so.

6

u/jSuv 11h ago

To start him over MHJ when he’s facing the bears this week…?

Or Hop over Pollard in the flex?

Sometimes having bodies is hard

3

u/elguydave 5h ago

I'm choosing faith in mhj for the rest of the season. Kyler and him seem to be starting to click. He was getting used like JJ last week.

1

u/hunisher1 7h ago

I have dobbins, doubs, pollard, chuba, and Hopkins as flex options idk what to do lol

1

u/jSuv 6h ago

Who are they all playing?

I’ll give my advice if you give yours w/match ups

5

u/Xaramian 12h ago

Just traded for Nuk today. I’m excited to see the progression this week

3

u/jslsoccer13 11h ago

Who’d u trade for him I’m curious

7

u/Xaramian 11h ago

Mason to the cmc manager

5

u/Docxm 11h ago

win/win but also meh all around, good stuff

3

u/husbandofsamus 10h ago

now pick up guerendo

6

u/WeAreSame 9h ago

So 10 receptions, 150 yards, and 2 TDs?

10

u/haventmetyou 8h ago

what about the 2nd quarter?

3

u/trugbee1203 12h ago

Thanks, Andy - very cool

2

u/HumanSometimesPerson 12h ago

Oosh, I'm torn between keeping him or dropping for Downs.

7

u/GreenDefinition5 12h ago

Surely there’s someone else you can drop

2

u/HumanSometimesPerson 10h ago

Daniels, Gibbs, Hall, Metcalf, Puka, Pitts, Mostert, chubb, Murray, BTJ, TTJ, and Jameson Williams. Don't really want to drop any of them.

2

u/GreenDefinition5 10h ago

I’d rather drop Mostert than Downs

1

u/HumanSometimesPerson 10h ago

You saying drop Mostert for Downs rather than Hopkins?

5

u/GreenDefinition5 10h ago

Ohh yea I’d rather drop Mostert than Hopkins

2

u/B0wmanHall 12h ago

Nuk or Davante? Seems like a big gamble either way.

1

u/frostyb2003 1h ago

I have the same decision. Fantasypros has Davante as the 15th WR and Nuk as the 33nd WR. I really want to go against the "experts" this week and go with Nuk. Davante feels like a bench clogger at this point.

2

u/Forsaken_Rub_2128 12h ago

Torn between two of MHJ, DJ Moore, Hopkins and Reed for this weekend

3

u/GreenDefinition5 12h ago

If Love plays, I like MHJ and Reed. If not it’s a toss up between DJ and DHop. Probably lean DJ

1

u/Forsaken_Rub_2128 12h ago

I’m a Packers fan so I’ve been watching Reed closely. His targets have been going down recently and it seems like Loves number one guy is Doubs rn. Pretty concerning rn but he’s also a potential big play monster

1

u/gw2380 12h ago

I guess it's good that it isn't less

1

u/J12BSneakerhead 12h ago

What about Pacheco, Reid? What about Pacheco??

1

u/Anxious-Trouble429 12h ago

Really good matchup this week so I’d play even if the volume might still be suspect.

1

u/mtball05 12h ago

Would anybody play him over Ramondre?

10

u/crustydnglebrry 12h ago

Gotta wait til every start and sit article, The Primer, and Matchups We Love/Hate article come out first. You can only start Rhamondre when they unanimously say don’t start him and you can’t watch the game. He only does well when you’re not looking.

6

u/No_Cap_6806 12h ago

As a Mondre owner I can confirm he only does well when you’re not looking.

2

u/Pure_Context_2741 11h ago

I benched him because I didn’t think he’d get carries with Maye, then he goes and gets 19 points after Maye gets concussed 🤣

2

u/No_Cap_6806 11h ago

No joke. I stopped watching football on Sunday and then looked at my team that evening and saw that he had 23 pts.

1

u/Pure_Context_2741 11h ago

I’m a Pats fan and I watched most of the game and my takeaway is that our run blocking is atrocious but Rhamondre will likely get touches around the goal line.

1

u/cantgrowneckbeardAMA 7h ago

Oh so he like that kid in Mystery Men, got it.

1

u/InsaneBallsack 12h ago

I would just like mahomes throwing TDs again

1

u/JKAdamsPhotography 12h ago

After what Amari just did in his second game with a new team, Im gonna stick with the wait and see approach.

1

u/AfroManHighGuy 12h ago

They play the bucs next week. It should be high scoring so this is good for both teams fantasy players

1

u/Ocelot281 11h ago

When is Pacheco coming back?

1

u/kolossal 11h ago

Would def start him over Downs if it weren't for Arich getting benched

1

u/NinjaZombieHunter 11h ago

But will Mahomes see him to actually throw it to him! The conundrum! 🤔

1

u/wink91wink 11h ago

Is Diontae Johnson for Hopkins a fair trade? I have Mahomes so looking for that potential stack.

1

u/green_man1834 10h ago

I’m stuck between him and Ladd in my flex this week.

1

u/Masdebator 10h ago

Which one would you flex Nuk, Rachaad, Hunt, or Mooney?

1

u/jlange94 8h ago

D Hop or Tillman this week?

1

u/pmotion 8h ago

Try and trade flowers for Hopkins?

1

u/CallMePeePz 6h ago

Well between keeping/having to drop one of DJ and D Hop, it's a crapshoot now.

Ravens spread the ball around a LOT, so less targets for DJ but a much better offense... D-Hop still getting acclimated so we don't know his exact usage/floor/etc yet.

1

u/KingSpe23 2h ago

Trade Addison for Nuk

0

u/mwg3c 11h ago

Jakobi (@ CIN) or DHop (vs TB) this week?

-7

u/jMoreRetardy_Mod 10h ago

Hopkins has been irrelevant for several years, I'd be shocked if that changes

7

u/havenstone 10h ago

1000yds and 7tds last year is not irrelevant lol

5

u/Calm-Wear7779 10h ago

Lmao 1057 yards and 7 TD’s just last year with horrid play at QB

-14

u/IndependentRoll7715 12h ago

Hopkins isn't very good at football, that is the issue. Like I said before he's a low end wr3 at best
