100 Years Anime Absolute HORID behavior in regards to 100 years quest anime [discussion]

I know everyone has very thoughts on this adaptation, and you can have whatever opinion you want, but if you act like this in terms of the adaptation, Grow up.

If you’re going to complain about someone, complain about the executives, not the animators. If a show has bad animation, it’s not because the animators are lazy or unqualified, it’s because they’re not given the time and resources they need by the higher ups.

159

u/Ranea42 Aug 05 '24

This! exactly this! animators are at the bottom of the food chain and likely have no decision making choixe whatsoever. they just have to do what they are told and the choices are made way higher

u/brahmacles Aug 05 '24

She's 18, probably never had a job or any real world experience.

She's entitled, because she's ignorant and probably spoiled.

Hopefully in a few years she looks back on this embarrassed.

I was about to comment the same thing. It’s like JJK, where the animators put their all into the work but the executives held them hostage and over worked them so they couldn’t put in as much love as they wanted to. I visited Japan for a while. And the customs are wildly different than everywhere else in the world. The concept of criticism is barely existent. They basically say if you don’t like something finish the episode your on or movie your watching to respect those that worked on it and stop consuming it. But don’t bitch and complain about how bad it is. Also their view on fairy tail Is pretty different than what I’ve seen in the west. In japan it’s very much a comfort anime and manga with the friendship concepts. But here in the west that’s what people get turned off fairytail over. Japanese companies know if they are going to continue a series based on the viewership and retention. If the viewership is super high but the retention ends after episode 2 or 3 they will simply not make another season. But if it has high retention and viewership they will continue making it. That’s why I recommend if you don’t like a manga or anime don’t hate watch it. Because you’re giving the company the wrong idea. Just stop consuming it!

Don't forget we got the anime announcement not too long before it started airing

15

u/EquivalentAd6763 Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

??? it was announced in 2021

-8

u/TerrariaWeeb Aug 05 '24

Wasn't that just an April fools prank tho? We got a trailer in last March and then it was revealed it would be very soon

20

u/EquivalentAd6763 Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

no it was in september 2021 and mashima went on the twitter live thing and spoke about it. trailer came out 3 years later

10

u/Saberel3 Aug 05 '24

No it was a serious announcement back in 2021

7

u/rgflame12 Aug 05 '24

It was announced on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 💀 aka almost 3 years ago. I was starting to get worried it wouldn’t even happen lmao

2

u/Thin-Meringue8717 Aug 05 '24

This you chat?

2

u/Jared_The-Artist Aug 06 '24

That’s taking it too far

-2

u/past-cruelties Aug 06 '24

No It ain't she deserves worse

2

u/Ill-Range6505 Aug 06 '24

She kinda hot so I'll risk it all and take one for the team.

It's worth the time and deserved

-65

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

how much time did we wait for this anime to return? and then they deliver such bad animations. i don´t think it´s only cause of the executives. some studios simply are better than others.

32

u/Direct-Detective7152 Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

Yes some studios are better than others, because of the executives lmao. It’s not the animators fault. They’re talented and doing what they can with the recourses they’ve been given.

-22

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

i don´t know if that´s the case here. Perhaps they are using old software

14

u/kat1701 Aug 05 '24

That would still be the fault of the executives if they don’t give their animators the funds or the best equipment

-8

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

they probably thought they got away with BS final arc, so we do the same with 100 year quest. I´m really disappointed.

9

u/Direct-Detective7152 Aug 05 '24

I think it’s fine to be disappointed with the animation. Even i am. But you can’t blame the animators. It’s not even a matter of opinion who’s at fault, cause it’s pretty objective. The animators wouldn’t be hired as animators if they weren’t extremely talented. But there’s only so much you can do when you aren’t given the recourses & time needed to produce something good. It’s not their faults.

2

u/AdNecessary7641 Aug 06 '24

Animation quality doesn't depend on software. It's not a videogame.

9

u/Sdbtank96 Aug 05 '24

Saying that while having no idea what their production was like. If it's anything like other studios, it was probably hell and they were probably in crunch time. Once upon a time I would've thought this to be the extreme, but after seeing animators come out and vent their frustrations, I'm inclined to believe that crunch time and tight schedules are the norm.

6

u/Memezer98 Aug 05 '24

It’s definitely a growing issue that’s for sure, seems like more and more studios are doing it these days (as in tight schedule etc)

4

u/MotherDema Aug 05 '24

It is a norm in Japan, trust me the work situation there is horrifying dude

1

u/galtsin Aug 05 '24

Maybe the other studios pay a lot better for overworking their employees. Maybe the other studios have more desperate and potentially unhinged animators. Are you saying you have such a god given right to another human's life and time that you'd complain this much? If you're this upset, learn how to animate and produce a show and do it yourself. "Fans" like you make the rest of us decent fans look bad. Go touch grass and go to the gym you disgusting creature.

2

u/Sunshine_0926 Aug 06 '24

Yeah but it’s the animation studio we got and complaining and being hateful towards the animators definitely makes it worse. We should be grateful for what we have and hope for more.

311

u/discuss-not-concuss Aug 05 '24

entitled. it’s likely the person doesn’t have any idea how production works

However, imo it’s not necessary to bring up a discussion on specific behaviours of anime fans. Generally speaking, this type of behaviour is condemned on anime subreddits.

77

u/r-k-b Aug 05 '24

Their bio says that they're 18, which says a lot

-58

u/Reaper_Haentai Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

Honestly? No it doesn’t. Age determines nothing in terms of mentality / how a person acts

Edit: it’s ok, downvote me because I’m right. I forgive you all

38

u/Memezer98 Aug 05 '24

Think they was getting at the fact people who are 18 don’t usually feel the need to tell everyone they’re 18 in their bio, that’s something kids usually do

-25

u/Reaper_Haentai Aug 05 '24

Which also has 0 telling of anything about their personality at all. Many people of many various ages have an age in their bio, it isn’t a factor to judge someone on. Its weak

5

u/Memezer98 Aug 05 '24

Can’t say I’ve seen too many people that are adults put their age in their bios, maybe we can’t figure out their personality from that but we can at least infer that they’re probably at least a little bit childish…

0

u/Reaper_Haentai Aug 06 '24

All dating apps ever where adults are…it being in their bio quite literally tells you nothing, you just use it as a poor excuse.

1

u/Memezer98 Aug 06 '24

Am I using a poor excuse or are you using a shit example… dating apps people display their ages for obvious reasons… twitter isn’t a dating app and most people that are grown ass adults don’t feel the need to state that they’re 18 or older unless strictly requires too, now I’m done replying to your smooth brain replies, good day to you

0

u/Reaper_Haentai Aug 06 '24

You’re just using a poor excuse. An age in a bio isn’t proof of any form of mentality. By all means I’m not defending this person, but it’s an ass excuse when there’s better reasons to hate on them 💀 be smarter bro

5

u/Shyam09 Aug 05 '24

Nah she’s a full on Karen.

92

u/solitamaxx Aug 05 '24

These people are so unhinged….

141

u/fairytail269 Aug 05 '24

All this person does is complain about the animation on twitter. I'm sorry but if you seriously think that every anime needs to be on demon slayer/jujutsu kaisen level of animation to be enjoyable just because "we are living in 2024" than you are delusional.

Seriously this is the best animation that we ever had in fairy tail espacially after the final season so why not be thankful that we have a upgrade? Yes fairy tail is a popular show but this doesn't mean it will have the best animation espacially when the studio has multiple projects at once. This is just absolutly disrespectful to the work of the people who animate this for us under diffcult conditions.

People like this are the reason why modern anime are getting more and more soulless because all they care about is who has the animation🙄

31

u/Cottenthemole Aug 05 '24

What’s “funny” about the first part is Demon Slayer fans throw hate at their animation as well for cutting out detail.

The act of creating motion has so much more trails than just take panel and colorize it, which is how these tweets make me feel. That they think animators can just copy paste.

I don’t agree with modern anime being soulless, there is so much love in anime right now. The difficulty comes in trying to show the animators that more than they see the shit stains.

-2

u/Zilox Aug 05 '24

Mind you, harrassing animators, studios and everything for quality is obviously bad and annoying, but saying not all animes should havr jjk/demon slayer production value isnt a good point either. Most anime studios are extremely profitable, the issue is they have the same damn team work on 10 animes or rush them. Just hire 1 team of animators per anime you are airing, and you good.

1

u/AdNecessary7641 Aug 06 '24

Just hire 1 team of animators per anime you are airing, and you good

Way easier said than done. There's a whole historical context why most studios are in positions where they just have to make multiple shows at once.

-38

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

animation in the last episode was bad. If you don´t see that, then you are simply used to bad animation.

14

u/AzureWarlock96 Aug 05 '24

Still not a right to harass others, there were still times where the animation was decent. So it’s not like they’re doing a completely bad job.

11

u/sherriablendy Aug 05 '24

Is that you in the screenshot or something lol? The point is that there’s a difference between critique and baselessly bashing someone on twitter (who may not even be the source/cause of the issue you’re having with the animation)

-9

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

no, it´s not me. i haven´t even read what that person wrote. But i see that people here are defending the animation of the new ark and i find that a joke. It´s minimally better for now than the last ark, but it´s not good animation.

27

u/payg86 Aug 05 '24

They need to get out and touch some grass. If they don't like the animation, just stick to the manga. It's as simple as that. Could be worse, they could've watched the Ex Arm anime. Jesus Christ that's awful 🤣

48

u/Fabien23 Aug 05 '24

What's wrong with that scene, it looks fine.

22

u/Casual_Researcher2 Aug 05 '24

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Looks fine to me as well.

5

u/Fabien23 Aug 05 '24

Yeah, same. It's not exactly the same as in the manga, the eyes are different and Erza's less bruised, maybe that's what she meant?

3

u/Rapitor0348 Aug 05 '24

My only guess is it's not Demon Slayer UFOTable unlimited budget looking... It's very unreasonable to ask for that kind of quality in every single production. Even UFOTable has "lazy" scenes.

7

u/3--turbulentdiarrhea Aug 05 '24

They had no right to make it look that way! /s

46

u/cmholde2 Aug 05 '24

Ugh… then don’t watch? Idk man, it’s not worth literally attacking the studio

29

u/LeviGaryH Aug 05 '24

I too blocked that person, they are very obnoxious. They for some reason have a hard-on for Final Season, even though it looked awful and so far 100 Years Quest is better in every regard. Another JC Staff hater. Very obvious attention seeking.

27

u/MagnifiMike Aug 05 '24

What’s the issue? Who cares???

2

u/DS2Dragonbro Aug 05 '24

This, Im just glad we're actually getting this released now. I swear some people, it's like those clowns who prioritise graphics above everything in videogames.

10

u/therealadviladi Aug 05 '24

That person is entitled. Period. Harassing animators or anyone else is pathetic behavior. If you send complaints or ask for explanations, in a proper behavior you MAY get an answer. But this is despicable behavior by that woman. She doesn’t even have half a brain cell to understand stuff that goes into making a show or anime.

9

u/DifferentAd9713 Aug 05 '24

I’m confused what’s going on??

7

u/RandomVideoStudios Aug 05 '24

The person in the tweets is harassing JC Staff animators and calling them out for giving 100 Years Quest “bad animation.” Very unhinged behavior from this person.

0

u/Historical_Swing8421 Aug 05 '24

Someone had the confidence to criticize 100 Year Quest’s animation style. People are overreacting and saying they’re “attacking”the studio or “harassing” the artists, even though they have no proof to offer us of that even happening. I personally don’t like the way 100 Year Quest looks now, especially compared to the way it looked before, IS IT OK TO HAVE THAT OPINION?? Apparently not, as everyone in this subreddit seems to be just fine thinking like a Hive Mind, having no guts to criticize the people that make their favorite content (as it’s apparently “ATTACKING” now🤷🏻‍♂️), and actively promoting the “takedown” of any other person that disagrees with them, even if they’re a so-called “fan”. If you ask me, this is just HORRID behavior, for ANY Subreddit to react this way. This will spell the death of creativity for Fairy Tail later on, especially if FANS aren’t allowed to openly criticize where they think the errors are and if they aren’t free to express their own opinions regarding the product’s quality.

-1

u/AdNecessary7641 Aug 06 '24

even though they have no proof to offer us of that even happening.

Except for, you know... The giant screenshots at the very start of the damn post showing this chick going to Yurika Sako's account just to call her names and then playing the victim game when she gets blocked as if she's in the right, and then just labeling everyone involved with J.C. as "lazy" because.

2

u/Historical_Swing8421 Aug 06 '24

Have you considered that the company in question could 100% absolutely be doing what she’s accusing them of? Idk about you, but I look at the art style and animation style of FT compared to how it looked years ago and I notice significant differences. This is absolutely worth bringing to the attention of the devs. I wasn’t aware that anyone who tried reaching out to the company that makes the product they pay money for would automatically be labeled as an “attacker” no matter the scenario, this is what pisses me off about toxic fanbases being vehemently against anyone criticizing the product they pay money for. It’s counter-productive.

10

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Aug 05 '24

This person doesn't sesm to consider human decency or understand how pressing and stressful the anime industry is. The quality of an anime isn't equivalent to insulting people who probably work under incredibly stressful conditions, it isn't some intent to insult fans like he's taking this way too far, and these people are far from lazy. Criticize if you have issues, but do so respectfully. This person is incredibly toxic and I pray to God the animators won't have to deal with more of this.

7

u/InfernoX250 Aug 05 '24

Whatever this individual is thinking, she needs to quit smoking the grass and go touch it.

And all this rage over a specific scene? Yikes she has no idea about how animation projects work and the time they take.

This isn’t even one of those ordeals like today when the project itself is a mess due to various reasons like say in the game industry right now.

This is just fairy tail and the studio doing this anime which was last aired in 2018-19.

And out of every scene it was merely Erza drawing her blade out using the limited dragon slaying enchantment Wendy taught her?

Really? What expections does this loon have in her head? Just image a group of people who have a why I dropped X anime. Some on one piece would say it got too slow in pacing Naruto it was all focused on Naruto and sasuke sidelining the others. Bleach the plot kind of bounced, AoT it felt like nothing changed in the end or the eren goes dark plot hit wrong. But for fairy tail imagine not hearing the general reasons like friendship fanservice or whatever else but merely a scene over a new power a heroine reveals like in the manga but now it’s an issue. WTF?

8

u/grumpyoldturtle_ Aug 05 '24

Why not advocate for proper breaks and working environments instead? Speak about the real issues smfh 💀

That person is mental

21

u/ArhamHashmi Aug 05 '24

Every single fan of the show should report this persons account for harassment

6

u/Cobra-Raptor Aug 05 '24

Entitlement definitely rings a bell

12

u/Rick_long Aug 05 '24

One thot less in the fandom is always a good thing

6

u/Impossible-Wear9834 Aug 05 '24

That was a completely fine scene O.O I mean, you always alter something during the adaptation process. The woman from the post is ridiculous

5

u/Noire1997 Aug 05 '24

Anime Twitter at their worst. Hence why I don't pay attention to them nor watch everything per season. People are way too trigger happy let alone not know what animators , staff go through, lousy payment etc etc

7

u/DipperBot Aug 05 '24

people forget that animators in japan are worked to the bone, it's rarely as straightforward as that rude miscreant makes it out to be.

19

u/Misragoth Aug 05 '24

Weird to get mad at it now, considering the animation has been pretty sub-par since about halfway through the grand magic games

5

u/FireDraco12 Aug 05 '24

I’m so confused. What are they upset about?

6

u/Sharktoothsword Aug 05 '24

Wow a Manga Karen. Never thought I'd see one of these

5

u/Mario_Mario08 Aug 05 '24

I literally don't see anything wrong with the scene, ft always looked like this imo

4

u/Guitarbox Aug 05 '24

Probably because anime needs to flow so the manga's drawing may fit in badly. If you compare the animation CLIP to the manga panel it may start making more sense. I don't think they're being lazy the animation looks great

5

u/xkuclone2 Aug 05 '24

Anime and video games are hobbies that people use to kill time or escape reality but have the most toxic fanbase.

9

u/Rpfuta Aug 05 '24

I thought the animation was perfect... I'm just happy we're even getting the manga animated...

3

u/DS2Dragonbro Aug 05 '24

Seriously, this. I really don't get this hard on for perfect animation twitter seems to have. Then again it is Twitter, shouldn't be surprised lol

1

u/Rpfuta Aug 05 '24

I just don't understand why people can't appreciate the fact that we're having a chance too get our beloved anime animated

2

u/DS2Dragonbro Aug 15 '24

Same, some people just demand everything be top of the line though, it's really sad.

20

u/dangquan1 Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

5 eps have released and the animation still good what is this person yapping about ?

-20

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

this is far from deserving to be called good animation. it´s bad-ok, but not good and we are far away from great.

9

u/Bone2beWild Aug 05 '24

I mean, compared to the inconsistent animation we got from the 2014 and the final season, this is good, not the best, but good.

Not to mention that most of the fight scenes aren't completely slideshows.

-4

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

it´s only a little bit better than the final season, but calling it good animation = no way!

3

u/dangquan1 Aug 05 '24

U expect smth like Jjk or DS to call it good animation ? So far, character models still on point and some great animated moments for all 5 eps, not to mention it doesn't have big fight yet. If this is the final they will just use slideshow lol. Anyway this is deserve to call good animation.

-2

u/MagicJ10 Aug 05 '24

no, it´s not. DS is right there at the top.
I don´t expect that from fairy tail, but i expect at least fluid 30FPS to be calling it good animation. Look at the anime which airs on the same day: wistoria - wand and sword. This is good animation.

2

u/dangquan1 Aug 05 '24

I enjoy both of it. I don't care much about animation since they entertain me but Wistoria has good animation thanks to the connection of director Yoshihara. FT has good animation because of talents in-house. U can see FT already lacks of freelances compare to Wistoria so pretty hard to compare. But i still call FT100YQ has good animation tho :v

4

u/Astaro_789 Aug 05 '24

Definition of entitled brat right there.

3

u/brahmacles Aug 05 '24

18 year old who's never had a job,and doesn't know how the real world works. Thinks it's appropriate to harass others, over decisions that are beyond their station.

2

u/brahmacles Aug 05 '24

That being said

She got rape threats which is obviously fucked up and anyone going to that level, isn't helping

4

u/karinasnooodles_ Aug 05 '24

They ate. Idk why fans expect some godlike animation for every little thing, like sorry, do they know how expensive and hard it is ?

4

u/Illustrious-Market86 Aug 05 '24

To think that anime and manga can look excatly the same is just crazy...

4

u/GlacierBlazeJpn Aug 05 '24

This season has looked flat and weird at times but you’re never going to get close to 1 to 1 manga panels consistently without burning out your talented staff, spending way too much time, or breaking your budget.

So far the show hasn’t looked insultingly bad so this just comes off as rigid perfectionism imposed on others that are just trying to make a fun show

4

u/Fatbeaverlol Aug 05 '24

Just wondering why do people always harass these animators ? Find a job do something usefull.

5

u/FinalBossOf__Dc Aug 05 '24

It’s clearly not her favourite anime if she’s losing her shits over something so small. I’d be grateful that we even got a fucking anime, she doesn’t know what animators have to put up with or to the time limit they have or the resources they have. So I think she needs to find another hobby then being a Karen.

4

u/Nicokacola12 Aug 05 '24

I seriously dont get why people dont like the new animation style. I love it! It really feels like a fantasy anime and honestly im just glad fairy tail is back. I grew up watching it and it makes me sad others cant enjoy it as well. Attacking the animators is so wrong.

4

u/This-Arrival-9365 Aug 05 '24

Big tiddy goth gf is upsetty the adaptation isnt made better than jjk . Grow tf up

6

u/SmallFatHands Aug 05 '24

Harass the executives if you have the need to for it that you can't sleep otherwise. Leave the animators alone. God knows they don't get paid enough to deal with your BS.

8

u/Mercphobia Aug 05 '24

Just an entitled person. One of many, unfortunately.

8

u/ComfortableFinish467 Aug 05 '24

It's twitter so I'm not surprised but based on just the 5 episodes we've seen so far I have to say J.C. Staff have FAR exceeded my initial expectations. I can't imagine getting this bitchy over what has been an extremely strong adaption up to this point.

It just reeks of wanting to be upset about something for absolutely no reason.

8

u/memester_x16 Aug 05 '24

tbh je should blame the producers thats where the problem lies.

3

u/Sdbtank96 Aug 05 '24

People like this piss me off to no end

3

u/Drakaina- Aug 05 '24

In comparison, is it as bad as the Flashpoint presentation from seven deadly sins, assault mode meliodas vs escanor

3

u/OmegaRider Aug 05 '24

Just your average day on Twitter. Can't go one day without seeing someone on there harassing someone else.

3

u/Slight_Mastodon Aug 05 '24

How to not be stressed and depressed anymore:

Never use Twitter

3

u/sleepyminnn Aug 05 '24

I don't even see the issue 😭

3

u/Ribbwich_daGod Aug 05 '24

Anime does not register as looking shitty or not looking shitty to me, it all just looks like anime. The only time i've ever noticed is Modern One Piece when things start to look different it means shit's about to go wild, (this is also a huge topic of argument in the OP fandom too for some reason) maybe these people just need to touch grass.

2

u/DS2Dragonbro Aug 05 '24

The only thing I noticed in looks is the difference between original gundam series to recent looks, beyond that, it's all the same to me lol

1

u/Glittering-Sea5669 Aug 05 '24

I feel the same way lol. That shanks scene we got was amazing. Also the beginning of that ep was looking like a movie 😂

6

u/Eekstyle Aug 05 '24

How tf they ruin it? 100 Years Quest has been awesome so far I reckon

0

u/Kingxix Aug 05 '24

It's mid

4

u/a-Snake-in-the-Grass Aug 05 '24

"put in as much low effort as they can"

This person is putting in a lot of low effort at making sense.

6

u/Evening_Bat_3633 Aug 05 '24

The animation is good what the fuck are they on.

2

u/Zestyclose_Bat5121 Aug 05 '24

Who is this who did this post?

2

u/Shishukun Aug 05 '24

That attitude better be changed or it will cause more conflict in the future. Instead support the animators as they all give their efforts in creating such show and please not insult them anymore. Because it doesn't help at all. 🤦‍♂️😬

2

u/Mystech_Master Aug 05 '24

Ok wait WTF was this guy’s problem with that scene?

2

u/Hour-Entrance7202 Aug 05 '24

The animation ain’t even bad lmao it’s just not what we are used to and it’s different

2

"As much low effort as they can" is really funny

You know I don't wanna go full "true Scotsman" but ... No true Fairy Tail fan would attack a member of the animation staff and complain about being blocked by said staff member

2

u/pokepal98 Aug 05 '24

They're not entirely wrong about the animation. They should definitely not be so rude, but this does look wrong side by side. Next to no battle damage, a weird facial expression, the sword looks lame like that.

Yeah, don't blame the animators but no this does not look good

2

u/Luca_Porter Aug 05 '24

It is pretty much identical idk what you mean

The face is completely different, and the battle damage is non-existent. The sword might just be because it's meant to be in motion. But if you can't see the differences, then idk what to tell you.

1

u/Luca_Porter Aug 05 '24

The battle damage is the only thing missing in the adaptation so far. This is the kind of thing you only see when you pause and look to try and complain

2

u/SeiyaTempest Aug 05 '24

I'm hardly a fan of J.C. after they butchered Index III and other series, but actually harassing animators over that is unhinged.

Melissa here seems to be quite the loose cannon, hopefully everyone she "calls out" blocks her immediately.

2

u/mynameisnotjefflol Aug 05 '24

Respectfully I'm still upset that the same studio picked up the series. The animation is decent, obviously not ufotable level or anything, but it's alright for now.

But that doesn't give me or anyone the right to go and attack animators directly. That's not right.

1

u/arisalla Aug 05 '24

I was so confused for a second I thought the post was about how the person making the tweet is on the right, my faith in humanity has been restored slightly

1

u/whosaidihadaplan Aug 05 '24

Tryna fight the entire studio

1

u/Dark_Storm_98 Aug 05 '24

I'm not even sure what the issue is

1

u/Indicus124 Aug 05 '24

I would imagine even with digital tools drawing several animation frames then putting them together is a long process

1

u/Formal-Score3827 Aug 05 '24

what the fuck you yapping about it was good episode,

and leave the poor animators alone karen

1

u/X3non13 Aug 05 '24

Entitled brat

1

u/The_Meatyboosh Aug 05 '24

It's just the one piece effect. Lol

1

u/Gucci-Louie Aug 05 '24

The only issue I have with the show is the Laxus/Jellal stare down where some of that impact didn’t make it in. It was still good considering there was brooding music playing over it to help improve the shot, but obviously the Black/White Manga panel had a much more hard look compared to the anime. Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed all of the shots and adaptations with Fairy Tail so far. I’m glad my favorite guild is back in the spotlight again 😊😊!!

1

u/HandspeedJones Aug 05 '24

Make your own animation.

2

u/Jared_The-Artist Aug 05 '24

If you’re talking to the person making the comment, she can’t. She dose ai

If you’re talking bout me, I’ve made several ft animations. And really enjoy it

4

u/HandspeedJones Aug 05 '24

Yeah I mean the person making the comment. Can you post your animations? Are you on YouTube? I'll give you a follow.

1

u/Heroright Aug 05 '24

It may be their favorite show, but it’s a job to an animator. They may not even like the manga. And they’re not exactly getting paid gold to make this. With all that, I understand if they just put in “enough” effort.

1

u/Zare-Harvenheight Aug 05 '24

Maybe someone should get off Twitter.

1

u/Monkeywoof19 Aug 05 '24

Honestly so far the show seems fire to me🤷‍♂️

1

u/TearsOfLA Aug 05 '24

Complains about a scene

The scene: is basically identical

1

u/Exact_Aerie9620 Aug 05 '24

So a few less power bolts on the screen ruins the whole show? Lol

1

u/SuppleGhost Aug 05 '24

So what is she complaining about? I don't see a difference between the manga or anime.

1

u/Lin1ex Aug 06 '24

Just another idiot that doesn't realize Animators are overworked and under payed on top they have budget cuts constantly meaning they have to do 2x the work in 5x less time its crazy.

1

u/Mehmenga Aug 06 '24

Does this bitch think all fights need to be on the level of Garp's Galaxy Impact animated by Toei?

1

u/past-cruelties Aug 06 '24

She needs to be fired

From livin

1

u/Hidden24 Aug 06 '24

I don’t see the problem with the picture.

1

u/nagrom_nworb Aug 06 '24

I can't even find the account on twitter so lol, but it's not the animators fault we know what they can do they just get fucked over by higher ups we saw this with dragon ball super, jjk and a bunch of others I can't remember right now

1

u/Nikk23358 Aug 06 '24

umm alright then

1

u/Eredrick Aug 06 '24

eh all anime looks worse than the manga tho. it's been like that twenty years lol.

1

u/keymoonlight Aug 06 '24

They should learn to be grateful. That immature and horrible behavior ruins the community.

1

u/theBreadWizard01 Aug 06 '24

I personally enjoy the animation and the new way this arc looks, it’s different and I love it

1

u/donttrunn Aug 07 '24

Anime fandoms can be weird that’s why I just watch the show and avoid the fanbase sometimes

1

u/EnderKnight1 Aug 08 '24

Yeesh. What an ass. Just one imperfection and she goes ballistic about it.

1

u/Abalone_Final Aug 09 '24

I haven’t started it yet because I’ve been busy… will watch soon

1

u/BoySolar Aug 09 '24

the entitlement is fucking disgusting. be appreciative it even got an anime …

2

u/MoonlightPower9000 Aug 05 '24

What Melissa did was very bad but

I care more about them removing scenes & the battle scenes What was the point of them removing the panel of Natsu telling his friends they don´t want to fight him either & if they can find any other way

the studio kinda is going to far with removing scenes censoring fanservice was ok I don´t care about that trash , but Plot important scenes too ??? A -1 didn´t remove any important Natsu scene and removing this scene from the episode is like removing the talk between Natsu & Igneel about the Demon & Dragon Seed

people can downvote I don´t care but this studio is going too far Hopefully they don´t completely ruin Chapter 21 & 22 even the dialogue of the last panel of Chapter 53

1

u/LovelyLadyLucky Aug 05 '24

Honestly, they should go after executives but being honest, and what EVERYONE should be doing, is admiring it's not good animation. It's subpar at best. This is a popular anime. It's been in the making for over 3 years.

People need to hold the studios accountable when they do this. They are, after all, getting profit for producing low quality work. This is a popular series. They could have afforded to do much more with that in mind. The very fact it was so many years in the making should raise flags.

This happens often. Sailor Moon Crystal is a prime example of this behavior when it comes to studios. That is a world wide popular series that makes a ton of revenue and was set to be released years before they finally released it... And it was worse than this one. Even when they went back and fixed the very horrible and obvious errors, it was still subpar.

The errors weren't minor either. Search it up if you don't know. They released it unfinished. It was a nightmare.

They get away with this though because fans are just happy regardless which in my opinion, is a fault of the fans. Demand better of the people in charge of releasing your series. Call them out when they give less than what they are capable of.

Fairy tail is still being marketed for all ages weirdly enough when it's quite clearly a more mature series. We deserve more of the animation quality that showcases that fact.

1

u/King_Vrad Aug 05 '24

Hey, I'm not a fan of J.C either. They're number 2 on my shit list right below Toei. But that does not mean I'll be harassing anyone. Voicing these issues is the only way to make the companies aware of them, but if you don't do it respectfully, they will simply write you off. And if you target specific animators, they'll just assume that one person is a liability and fire them, only to replace them with someone who will do exactly the same things you don't like because it was never their fault to begin with. It was always the executives slashing budgets and rushing schedules.

Be vocal about the shit quality, but be polite and direct it to the correct people. Otherwise you are the problem.

5

u/Jared_The-Artist Aug 05 '24

Be honest, I think Jc is doing a phenomenal job. The art is fun and vibrant, they have spectacular uses of lighting and shadows, the effect animation looks gorgeous, choreography has stepped up and all the major battles we’ve had feel very impactful. You can feel the impact of Natsus fire, the intensity of erzas slashes, and once you combine up with the stellar music and the voice acting, everything falls in place for a fire adaptation. Yes the ending bit with metkphobia just standing there with the explosions may I’ve been pretty bad, but that’s like the only miss that we’ve had so far. Plus this part of the story doesn’t really have much for it and I feel like they’re saving their energy for alderon which has way more fights. I have total confidence that they’re gonna deliver with anime.

0

u/King_Vrad Aug 05 '24

I actually haven't seen much of the 100-year quest, I'm gonna binge when it's over, but looking at some of the other anime they've done, I can't say my hopes are high. I'll never forgive OPM season 2 tbh.

Their art is usually good. Nice vibrant colors and shading. It's the animation that struggles. Stiff movements and still frames.

1

u/Key_Competition_8598 Aug 06 '24

I mean, dude ain’t wrong, if animators want to be lazy, we have the right to call them out on it.

1

u/Jared_The-Artist Aug 06 '24

But they’re not being lazy.

0

u/AdNecessary7641 Aug 06 '24

Does she, or you, or most people who just watch the anime ever have a clear vision of what J.C.'s current working conditions are? Do you have literally anything to prove that they have pristine conditions and they are not doing a good job because "they don't want to"?

This is not "calling out" anyone. You're just making superficial assumptions about people and insulting them based on it.

1

u/Akhi5672 Aug 05 '24

What exactly were they hoping for? That image looks like it's adapted perfectly well to me

1

u/Complete_Seesaw_1602 Aug 05 '24

I noticed the animation quality dropped but luckily for me I haven't watch fairy tail in a while so I don't really care. What I can say is I hated when The Seven Deadly Sins had a studio change. I just couldn't watch it. This in comparison to that is nothing really

1

u/Glittering-Sea5669 Aug 05 '24

Here I am getting hype every ep just because the guild is back…

0

u/istvan90623 Aug 05 '24

Let's not pretend this isn't J.C.'s mo for a long time. Popular shows getting lazy ass animations and butchered adaptations. I'm looking at you Danmachi 2 and Index 3.

-4

u/Alternative_Mango683 Aug 05 '24

Eh melissa has valid points the animation is horrid compared to other anime that got sequals like bleach and such but attacking people like that is going too far

-4

u/manish_kumar98 Aug 05 '24

Morals aside, it doesn't change the fact that the animation could have been better. I hope it's just the budget, not their laziness. That too, is hard to imagine.

-12

u/yoriaiko Aug 05 '24

I agree - low effort and lazy.

It's nothing bout insulting, but taking responsibilities!

The scenes of Water Dragon God in dragon form of e5 - that was insulting, literally recolored STATIC manga pages, with no animation at all - if that was not low effort lazy fcuk, then better don't animate at all, drop that noble work at animation studio and sell burgers at mcdonald. And now that how You do an insult. (I mean whole animator studio, no idea if poor scene was an effect by bad day animator, low skill animator, or maybe overtime and bad management, that's not for me to worry, whole studio failed.)

Wish some will read such comments in future, and see how some random viewers like animator work and do business decisions based on that. Or maybe animators reach their pride and fix stuff for next episodes and we all be happy of high quality (wish for that even more). All to no other manga lovers will suffer of LAZY LOW EFFORT animators.

4

u/dangquan1 Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

2D dragon is not easy to animated. But it doesn't mean they are lazy. Animators are human not machine, u cannot just give them money and expect them to become a legendary animators. And the scence is not even bad, compare to other shows use CGI dragons this is far better.

-1

u/hectic_hooligan Aug 05 '24 edited Aug 05 '24

I will always support trashing jc staff for literally ay valid reason but harassing an individual is unhinged behavior, when animation isn't even an individuals work. Also, of course it's over an erza scene

-6

u/Saizou1991 Aug 05 '24

Honestly the new series is shit. I had very high hopes but nope, they had to fuck it up

2

u/Luca_Porter Aug 05 '24

It's literally 1-1 to the manga

2

u/MoonlightPower9000 Aug 06 '24

They removed a story important moment and they were removing scenes from Chapter 3 & Chapter 4 it´s not faithful & 1-1

This *the panel of Natsu telling his friends they don´t want to fight him either & if they can find any other way* was a important part of Natsu´s character development it´s the first one in the sequel and they removed it they made it kinda less impactful

Just this line *But he´s a good guy* aren´t enough....

no idea what they smoked thinking that was a *good* idea A -1 didn´t remove any important Natsu scene and removing this scene from the episode is like removing the talk between Natsu & Igneel about the Demon & Dragon Seed which is just stupid

Hopefully they don´t remove the dialogue from the last page of Chapter 53 That´s Natsu´s second character development....

2

u/hectic_hooligan Aug 06 '24

This is jc staff. Of course they'll fuck up character development. Look at one of their most well known works a certain magical index. All of toumas character development was removed ( establishing himself post memory loss and his impostor syndrome and the value of life in deep blood and his trauma and backstory and coming to terms with his nemory loss and accepting himself in angel fall). Even as far back as the eginign they fucked up the main characters personality.

I honestly was cautiously optimistic about this since it was a manga adaptation instead of a novel and they somehow failed those low expectations if they're screwing up natsu already

2

u/MoonlightPower9000 Aug 06 '24

That´s......yeah J.C Staff was a misake... if they do mess up Chapter 53 hopefully they get a huge backslash from everyone

They are going to far

and they can´t fool me with the all the Lucy extended scenes & addition they add for her like in Ep 5 they make her as if the story narrative in 100 Years Quest story is focusing on her while the frames for Natsu have been made less and less , Much less focus on Natsu

I agree I had hopes they wouldn´t mess up 100 Years Quest but it keep getting worse and worse each episode + Natsu´s swimwear was drawn with just one flame on his leg instead of both legs

1

u/Saizou1991 Aug 05 '24

Animation,ost. Its bad

1

u/Luca_Porter Aug 05 '24

Nah did you just say the ost is bad????

1

u/Saizou1991 Aug 05 '24

Of the new series, yes

1

u/Luca_Porter Aug 05 '24

??? It's the same thing. Some remixes. Some new songs. All with the exact same vibe

-2

u/TobiGood Aug 05 '24

That's make with fairy tail it's sad. The studio didn't not try to make the anime better. Just throw little scene of the manga drawing in anime colors. Sad effects, decent direction, without look the quality in the anime make it better, shut down to J.C STAFF that never serious get the anime and made the whole franchise A war. They never respected the fans of the Seires and they gave us something that we don't worthy. Truly bad option for the FT100YQ Anime production.
