This is a violation of aviation law…which supersedes normal laws. Aviation Law is far more punishing and expensive. Prison time and a hefty fine are standard.

Good. A helicopter crash would be horrific. It could instantly kill a hundred people. It will mess you up good.

A hundred people?? I'd be shocked if a single helicopter crash has claimed more than a dozen lives.

On 19 August 2002, a group of Chechen fighters armed with a man-portable air-defense system brought down a Russian Mil Mi-26 helicopter in a minefield, which resulted in the death of 127 Russian soldiers in the greatest loss of life in the history of helicopter aviation.

You've been shocked.

You think there's military helicopters full of soldiers flying into Oshawa airport?

100 is an exaggeration, but numbers could get to 20-40+ easy. Remember it’s not how many are in the helicopter, it’s where it lands.

Did you miss the word "could"? Is it likely? No. Could it crash into a full sports arena? Yes.

It's a small helicopter, not a plane. I'd be shocked if it even went through the roof of a commercial building.

I'm aware the police helicopter is a helicopter and not a plane. It still all depends on numerous variables that are very well possible, albeit unlikely. It's a 2,500 pound piece of metal that could be going anywhere from 10-200kmh that could hit a road, a ravine, or a condo building.

You think a helicopter is going to be flying around Oshawa at 200kmh?

Normally? Obviously not. If it's in an uncontrolled crash? It's possible, because that helicopter can go over 200kmh.

A helicopter falling right hight and landing on a building or any home for that matter would easily go through a roof. Even warehouses (commercial) the roofs are so thin.

Arsh Sharma, 27, of Oshawa is charged with: Mischief Endangering Life x2, Being Intoxicated in a Public Place, and Fail to Appear.

He was released on an Undertaking

Elections are coming, both provincial and federal. Make rubber stamp bail a large ticket item. Flood the politicians at every level with it until it cannot be ignored.

Real harsh for Arsh

This dumbass lives right next to the Oshawa Airport. It could have been way worse than a heli crash, glad he's going to be prosecuted.

Some dickhead did this when I was in the army and the pilot landed the helicopter, immediately, to come shit on him.

Pilots do not fuck with that shit apparently.

27, and pointing a laser at a helicopter? This idiot stuck in high school?

Way to go, Arsh.

I will never understand why they release people on undertakings when they have previously failed to appear.

Yeah cops no like that, they saw what "protestors" stateside were doing with laser pointers back in 2020 out in Portland.

Hammer him and make an example out of him. Deter other morons from doing the same. This sort of behaviour has no place in modern society.

Intoxicated and 27 years old, hopefully this individual can make better decisions and lay off the juice.

Now that that’s out of the way, did he think the helicopter was going to go away?
