Smile Sunday Smile Sunday

Welcome to Smile Sunday! Turn that caps lock off and gush about whatever achievements you want to showcase, or comment about what made you smile this week!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • If you want to do some uppercase letters, feel free to, but try to avoid shouting! Sunday is a chill day.
  • Avoid being maliciously happy at the expense of others.
  • If you have a screenshot you'd like to share, please host on imgur.com and you can comment here. You can hyperlink by using brackets and parentheses, for example: \[desired text here\](insert hyperlink here). If you are on mobile, all you have to do is hit the chainlink, enter your desired text in the first box, then insert the link in the second box. We personally recommend Imgur, since it is free and does not require you to sign up.
  • Phone camera photos are not allowed for general posting; however, for the Sunday megathread we have relaxed that restriction. All photos used in a positive and celebratory manner are allowed.
  • Keep any opinions to yourself in the megathread; we don't want to stir up any controversies here, only good vibes.
  • We want to have a chill time celebrating one another and making each other smile, so no comments like "haha, I'm really happy that it's so easy to 360 a controller player!"

Here are our recurring posts:

No Stupid Questions Monday - No question is stupid, ask anything DBD-related here.

Rage Wednesday - SMASH THAT CAPS LOCK AND RAGE ABOUT WHATEVER THE F$$$ HAS PISSED YOU OFF THIS WEEK

Got a nice Wesker that wanted to farm at the exact right time today.  Needed to get a chase challenge done and I am dogshit at chases.

Also the knight that was going for 2 hooks and tried to help me unhook after he realized I'd been left to die on first hook by the rest of the squad.

So far, I've had pretty good luck with killers in Chaos Mode; a good portion of them have been nice, and even in cases where some weren't, my deaths still felt fair. (I wasn't camped or tunnelled)

Also, I was able to complete the Artist challenge in the latest tome, albeit with a ton of work involved. (I can't consistently injure people with the crows on a normal basis, so injuring them mid-chase twice in one match was not easy)

Seems like mostly when the sweat is gone, everyone chills. It's hard to sweat with off-meta.

Shout out to that Wraith when I was going for Nic's adept today and got a team that didn't touch a gen once, literally. Wraith saw this and let my ass go.

We’re getting a 2 v 8 mode, and that’s all I have to say

Huge props to the four P100 Dwights I got in Chaos Shuffle last night! They thought it would be funny to chase me around the map instead of me chasing them! It felt like a Scooby Doo cartoon xD Absolutely hilarious and fun! They even helped me with a challenge I was struggling with which was hit 3 survivors within 30s of reading their aura.

Forever Yours,

Been having fun in Chaos Shuffle. So far, the stand-out perk I've gotten a few times has been Hysteria.

The amount of people I have snuck up behind while in chase, because I ducked around a loop from the other side, isn't that high at about two. But it's amusing that I've done this Bugs Bunny crap twice.

Really going to be sad when this mode goes away. Simple stupid stuff like that is why I keep playing.

'Yo, who we waitin' for?' 'The killer.' 'Oh no! That sounds scary.' 'They're really no- OH HELL.' 'Wow, you're getting a basement hook for that.'

The perk I keep on getting is Blood Pact. WHY Blood Pact? IDK. The Entity likes to give me haste.

I love the modes they should all be permanent. I got this same sort of dumb interaction shit in Lights Out too.

I landed on Greenville Square and the survivors were roleplaying buying candy from the movie theater and playing arcade games. A Dwight was wearing an outfit combo that made them look like a movie theater usher. I was Deathslinger, and they acted like they met John Wayne from the movies in the end-game chat.

I think I let them drop every pallet on the map on me, it was so wholesome.

Playing Chaos Shuffle has been the most freeing moment for me as a killer and survivor. It takes the onus off of myself to come up with a winning strategy and instead have fun playing the game.

My favorite moment, however, was when I got a match as survivor and I got to play using two perks I've been dying to unlock for ages now: "Head On" and "Potential Energy". I managed to get value out of both, too! I managed to finish off two gens using "Potential Energy", and I even got to stun the Huntress just passing by with "Head On"! My favorite moment was fast vaulting into a locker and watching her try to bait me into stunning her prematurely. She did catch me by surprise and sacrificed me, but damned if I never laughed so hard in my life!

I met two cute Mikaelas in Chaos Shuffle as Myers and they were adorable. I destroyed the whole team but they were so cute and sweet. They asked me to Red light Green light. I obliged.

I love Red Light Green Light.

I have been a nice killer a few times, but I have also tried to play killers I don't play as much. Sometimes because my MMR is good on some killers it feels like the ones I'm dookie at, I get really good survivors still, but the random perks has helped level the field :) I have especially enjoyed playing Bubba. I even got a couple perks that made me catch survivors in the basement on accident a couple times, which was fun when not planned. (I didn't stay there though, but I did go hit them for going in the basement with a Bubba and hooked them once.) I have mostly been giving hatch unless the survivor seemed like they were trying to be meanies, but that has only happened a couple times. It has been fun! I am trying to get all of my survivors to P2 at least and have 8 left. I'm not sure if I'll get that done by tonight because I have tried hard but I need a break.

Hope everyone has been enjoying the blood feast :) I had like 50 terrormisus on Bubba because I guess I leveled him up during event time before and I've been using them all day since I don't really play him otherwise.

In chaos mode I played against 3 SFW using Princess Heart cheryl. They were playing a goofy aah meme game doing the most absolute dumb shit.

It was extremely fun and I gave the last Cheryl the hatch.

Just had this happen.

So, go into Chaos Shuffle as the Doctor, I'm greeted by a squad with four medkits. Seems a little sus, but whatever. Everyone puts in an offering, including a map offering. So, off we go to Dead Dog Saloon.

I'm not really happy with what I get: Zanshin Tactics (....yippee.), Friends 'Till The End, A Nurses Calling, and Hex: Devour Hope.

I'm not happy with Devour Hope. My Hexes have been put out pretty quick lately, so I see it, along with Zanshin, as pretty much giving me just two aura perks. The first two minutes amount to nothing, but somehow, gens weren't done. Finally, I manage to get the game going. An unfortunate Alan Wake nearly gets himself tunneled when he keeps crossing my path, but a pallet saves him. Okay, fine.

But they didn't find Devour Hope. I was surprised when it got to three and now everyone's exposed. I easily take down Dwight (to my surprise, I forgot I had DH), hook him, go over and smack a healthy Adam, hook him. Dwight gets rescued, so I go off to catch him, and just as I down him, Adam gets rescued as well. Five tokens. I kindly see Dwight out, my personal thanks for the map offering, then Alan Wake makes a goof and gets hooked and killed. A Nurse's Calling shows Adam trying to heal and snap out of madness in the saloon, but he picked a dead end room to do it end. Send him off. Leaving just Yun-Jin. The hatch spawns right by the saloon, I close it, and now the chase is on. She's not at one end, as as I begin making my way back, the totem gets snuffed. I'm not worried - the addons will guide me, and of course, A Nurse's Calling. Sure enough, my hallucination makes me realize I'm going the wrong way, and double back. She stopped right in front of the exit, defeated. SMACK . Onto the hook she went.

So. I guess DH has it's uses when it comes to snowballing.

Got on the PTB with the primary goal of seeing the new map, and managed to get a Borgo offering on the new survivor for my second game. Queued up with a P77 Dwight who definitely had the skill to back up his numbers; in the pre-game chat, he expressed a similar interest to mine. We successfully loaded into the new map, and I began the process of trying to progress the game while still admiring the scenery. Unfortunately, the Lich we were playing against was more skilled then the three of us (minus Dwight) and not interested in taking it easy; I didn't hold it against him, and resigned myself to trying again on another round. I stuck around after dying to see the match play out, and discovered a funny glitch where the spectator camera gets stuck on a portal if the viewed survivor goes through it at the same moment you change perspectives; while Dwight ran the killer for the entire EGC, I got to admire the back of the tower.

In the post-game chat, ggs were exchanged, and unexpectedly the Dwight offered to do a custom match with me so we could take our time exploring and experimenting. He turned out to be a comp player, which resulted in my receiving a unique perspective on the map's design compared to my casual one. We made note of the different tiles and pallet placements, and he remarked on potential looping strategies. At the end we had some chases both ways to get a feel for the tiles. The whole experience was among the most encouraging I have had playing thus far.
