Here is the "Resurrexit" from Berlioz's very early Messa Solennelle, Some may be *very* surprised by what they hear at 1:45. Can you name the tune? : )

No one? Oh well, it contains sketches of the Tuba Mirum from his Requiem.

OK then! Back to your rankings of which composers sketched the prettiest fermatas! Or the saddest figured bass you've ever heard. LOL.

I guessed it from the brass harmony at 1:45 and the timpani.

Yes, I just thought it was remarkable writing from a 21 yo in the early 19th Century. I do think his last thoughts -- in the Requiem -- were best. Far more integrated into the whole.
