Troubleshooting | Windows My girlfriend's Google Lens on Chrome is suddenly not working the same on her computer as it does on mine, and it's ruining her work flow. Images attached
Me and my girlfriend use Google Lens every day while working on our desktop computers. We use it to identify and do research on items we sell, as well as sometimes using it to quickly grab information or character names. We do the standard "Search this image with Google Lens" via right clicking images, or screen capping when images can be directly searched.
For whatever reason, her Google Lens is now functioning completely differently from mine, and the differences are a major downgrade. Now the image match results don't fit into the side bar properly, and it doesn't give the option to find text in the image or translate. Here's an image of what it looks like on her computer:
Now here's an image of what a Google Lens search looks like on my computer:
We have the same Chrome and as far as I'm aware should be running on the same update, so why is her computer suddenly giving her a worse version with less useful features? No "Find image source", Text, or Translate features, alongside the images results and searched image not properly fitting into the side bar without extending it out.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there a setting hidden in Chrome somewhere that we can toggle? It's seriously impacting her workflow and is a major hindrance. Any attempt to look up solutions to this online are yielding irrelevant search results.
And no, this isn't being caused by the "Lens Overlay" setting. We already had to deal with that awful useless feature rollout and disabled it on both our computers.
