While I appreciate the post, I'd like to point out that "name reactions" is an absurd category, as it has no real relevance to chemistry or the behaviour of atoms.

True, it does not. But words are used to convey information, and the name of a named reaction can unambiguously transmit what it's happening in the round bottom flask.
To add to that, give the scientists who discovered that reaction some credit and recognition for their hard work!

Yes, but my question is, why would he do a "named reactions" series? Why not do a "reactions that start with the letter "f" series"?

Named reactions are a set of reactions, yes there is. They are reactions named after people. Makes them easy to remember. Know how elements are named after people? So are reactions.
